I admit it, I was considering avoiding next gen depending on how enticing Sony was.
MS and Nintendo were never in the running. I only looked at their offerings as a means of judging Sony, if Sony came up short, I would have ditched their asses from the word go.
The Feb reveal was "whelming" so I waited till E3 to see if they were worth the effort.
Whilst they didn't blow me away, MS showed me that it could have been a lot worse in terms of Customer service.
Regardless of what negatives I cast on Sony, I consider them to be more in line with what I want from a games console and E3 proved it for me.
So...yeah, sign me up for next Gen.

I like to keep an open mind when it comes to this, so when a new gen starts i just look at where i should go to have the most fun in gaming. Although this gen already let me down or i purchased the wrong console.
So I wasn't planning on buying either of the new systems, haven't owned a 360, don't hate microsoft or xbox but I do know where my (if i was looking to buy) money isn't going due to new restrictions.

I am mostly annoyed by the fact that some people try to spin the Microsoft bullshit into something good... or compare it to something not even remotely related.

On a serious note though I'm really hoping the console is the biggest failure since E.T. 

Hopefully it spells the end of Microsoft in the console industry and turn 10 and Epic decide to back Nintendo and we're back to a 2 horse race.

I've owned every console released from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft to date. I've probably owned more games than you've heard of.

I'm comfortable with my gaming credentials. I'm not a blind fanboy who will defend my "team" no matter what they do.

If a company fucks up I'll call them out.

I had the 360, but it was still clear for me that I would be buying PS4 only. The lack of games in the last few years led to my 360 collecting nothing but dust, same as the Wii. For the PS4 the strem of good games just didn't want to end so I played it on a regurlar basis. The Vita is collecting dust though...

I almost bought a Wii U the other day, they had it at a local dealer for 149 €. It was too cheap to resist. But I found not one single game that I could play. 69 € for NSMB is a little too much in my book. they had Darksiders 2 for 25 € but I can get that on PS3 for 10 €. Zombi U was there for 39 €, but I'm not really interested in it. I thought about Virtual Console, but didn't find any Nintendo Pre-Paid Cards. So with not a single game that I wanted to play, I just said "fuck it" and went home.

I wasn't really interested in the Xbox One but some good games could have changed that. But now even good games won't change that I'm not going to buy the console. I'm still waiting for Internet to arrive here and mobile just isn't really a real alternative. If I use up too much data, my speed goes to shit. I can't even log on to PSN anymore so I imagine there would be times when I can't play Xbox One for about a week or so. I also tend to buy used games a lot, especially older ones.

In the end, I'm heavily Sony biased, as I like that company not only as a console manufacturer but for virtually any product they release. I really like their design and the quality hardware. That's why I own a Sony Vaio, a Sony TV, an Xperia Z Smartphone, an Xperia Tablet, a Sony Smartwatch, a Sony Camcorder... you get the idea. But still, normally I'm a Multi Console Player. I own PS3, 360 and Wii. But the Xbox One is just a real mess if you ask me and not attractive at all. The Wii U just lacks any games that I want to play.

But yeah, all I have to say in Xbox One threads are bad things and I really like the fact that people are turned off in masses from Microsofts "you don't own anything at all" approach. It just shows that people have common sense. And I also want Microsoft to fail so that the future of gaming is somewhat saved. They don't have to get out of console business, but they should make a better console for the 9th generation. The only language they understand is money. That's why I'm voting with my wallet.

Less competition in the gaming industry? I'll pass on that.

Everything Sony does now is a repsonse to MS. If it wasn't for for MS... Sony would release a $600 console with crappy launch titles.

If you like what Sony is doing with the PS4, you should thank MS. Sony wouldn't be so competitive with less competition.
