What you believe isn't fact, but I've heard MS is trying to copy steam, and if that's the case XBOne games will work on XB2. However there will be a lot less servers, and MS will still have the option to shut them down after some time. A hard copy retail game lasts as long as physically capable, cartridges can last a lifetime if you maintain them.

I just don't like the used game policy, you can make a system which links a retail game with a console which doesn't force you to stay connected, or block you from selling your games. Why not just stick to the system 360 has, where you need the physical disk to play the installed game. You can still lend the game to a friend, and play it offline, and keep it forever, regardless of weather or not MS keeps the servers up or not.

Of course it isn't fact because we don't know what will be in 20 years so we can only guess. Some assume the worst, some don't.

But yes, I think the 360-solution is the best, it is even better than PS3. You *can* install your games, but no game forces you to. You can resell your games and the disc is only needed to check for existance. We will see how this will go in the next years...

It's funny because the PS4 seems to do just that. I'm not sure if PS4 has a mandatory install like PS3 does, but it installs it in the background, so there is no delay or waiting, and the smallest hard drive is 500GB.

Would the ban effectively brick the console itself, or can you still play disc games?

Microsoft designed the Xbox 360 to be utterly useless outside of single player gaming offline. You're just kicked out of Xbox Live. It forces gamers to buy new Xboxes.

Internet keeps on hitting Microsoft where it hurts. And still the same fanboys keep on defending shit that shouldn't be defended. Microsoft soon to attain dictatorship over their costumers.

The whining about the Xbox One is disgusting. You have guys worried about other countries, guys just now not having a stable internet connection, worrying about what will happen 15-20yrs from now(assuming the absolute worse)worrying about who gets banned. Did I leave anything else out?
I wonder are you guys as passionate about starvation in the world or diseases.

Truth be told, isn't that what makes them fanboys in the first place?

Smart move MS, now all the CoD annoying kids' parents will need to buy multiple consoles.

If Nintendo implemented this d21lewis would be in serious trouble...

Yeah you're right, i should have refrained from using the term but it slipped through.

Are people expecting to get banned? Are they loud mouth abusive pricks on LIVE? Or criminals who hack or pirate? If not... What's the problem?

IIRC Call of Duty does not have a server browser, right? Well, get connected to a hacked lobby by chance (already happened to a friend of mine) and get banned. Tough luck, you just lost ALL of your games.

Well, don't get banned then...

Do you really think the fact that someone is being a "loud mouth abusive prick" warrants stealing potentially hundreds of dollars worth of content back from them?
