Depends on what you call life. Non DNA based self conscious entities probably exists. Probably not based on carbon either.

They have to stand in the way because they arent right. It is obvious that there is extraterrestrial life out there.
It takes religion to make you arrogant enough to think you're the special one.

Now wether we will be able to meet some other sentient species is a more difficult challenge. We need to develop better space traveling methods to be able to see them. Unless they are more advanced and find us first.

Also, its very likely we will find a non sentiant form of life as close as Europa, the moon of jupiter that seems to have a global wide ocean under the ice. And where there is water, there is usually life. If you think about what kind of beeing we are and how complex nature made us, the chances that many other variations in many other environments exist is likely.

If like can be found more than once in the same solar system, it might not be such an unlikely occurance.

I've always felt that there must be life on other worlds, obviously. BUT, I have never really bought into the "greys" phenomenon, nor any of the other popular "UFO Culture" tripe.

Well its only a ton if you hold it in one spot. 4 people 1 in each corner reduce it to 500lbs each. Its simple math really. Just like the bed of nails where if you lay on 1 nail it would sink into your body; however, lay on a 1000 nails and you will be fine.

People who believe in UFOs are nuts. Believing in extraterrestrial life is just logical.
There's no reason that conditions similar to the ones on earth don't exist somewhere else in the universe.

CHNOPS (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphoros) based life is the most probable type, not only due to its abundance in the universe, but also the chemical compounds it makes.  Other mixes not based on this carbon based organic chemistry are far less likely to exist.

That does not mean that life will have evolved in any sort of complimentary fashion.  Amino acids sequences, the chiralities (handedness) of the organic molecules and so forth are likley different.  There is considerable variety in DNA forms here on earth (A, B, Z) and a huge diversity of protien solutions to chemical problems.

DNA and histone protein complexes with the various forms of RNA are a great solution to information storage/replication.  Any complex life will have evolved a similar solution.

The chemistry that gave rise to life on earth is possible in many other places in the universe... so almost certainly there is life in some form elsewhere.

I have advanced degrees in Biology and Earth Sciences... and I have no reason to doubt the existence of complex life elsewhere in the universe.

I am however quite certain that there is a distinct shortage of hot green women with compatible genitailia.  I also have little reason to believe they visit here often(ever) and anally probe random people.

I kind of agree with that, some people refuse to believe in such obvious and proven principles and yet insist in having completely skewed points of view.

I'm not sure. Someone that says there definitely is - or is not - other life is probably a bit closed minded. In truth, we know very, very little about our own existence, what exactly life is, and the universe around us - especially that which is outside the Earth's atmosphere.

Personally, I think that we may be in fact living on the equivelant of an "electron" orbiting around a "nucleus" of an "atom" which is part of an incomprehensibly large living creature of which we are a part. This enormous life could be called extra-terestrial and could even be God of which we are both seperate and a part. But I digress and this is something we can't possibly understand.

I believe there is, beyond what we know on earth, God and life of the heavens and possibly little green men too. But I don't think badly of someone who feels there are some or none of these things.

Ancient aliens is a travesty. It ignores a great deal of contradictory evidence and presents ignorance as proof of unsubstantiated nonsense. There are many good debunkings of each episode available.

UFOs or unidentified flying objects happen, chances are they are not extraterrestrial in origin. Sometimes while out watching the stars I have seen strange lights, usually they are explicable (I check the satellite overflight records when I get back in). Most on the internet are clearly fakes. Unidentified does not mean extraterrestrial.
