"But does Samsung TV play game" - asked by the gamer. The answer is NO, you still need a console

"But can I watch TV with the Xbox One" - asked by the casual non-gamer. The answer is NO, you still need a TV.

Actually, the weird thing is they can. They have Gaikai support, so (if Sony maintain the partnership) they will be able to play PS1/2/3 games. Strange isn't it? Same goes for LG TVs.

I Doubt that Sony..A TV maker will give the competition part of their buisness...

Sony and Samsung are in discussions currently. People will have to play a subscription to Sony to use it anyway, and it would promote Playstation.

From the website:

Q: Is Samsung working with Gaikai and SCE to continue its partnership?

A: Yes. Samsung values its relationship with Gaikai and is in discussions with Gaikai/Sony to determine how the relationship will continue.

400-500 Xbox that has multiple uses or 1500 to 2000 TV with limited function? I'll take the Xbox.

"Limited function"? Samsung smart tvs can do almost anything an Xbox can do. The only exception is playing graphically advanced games.

Can you watch sport, movies and Cod with this tv?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

As more and more people have smart TVs, the main selling point of the Xbox One will become irrelevant. In fact, even smart TVs themselves don't even need apps. Who wants to use Facebook on the big screen?

You know, you really need to back off.  I'm not the reporting type, but you're becoming more blatant and it's getting really old here.

OT:  No.  Just no.  This thread should've been locked.

Price won't be a problem. It will go down rather quick and there's quite some time until Xbox One arrives. Also, even now there are boxes that transformyour TV into a Smart TV for all those people who don't want to buy a new TV. They are mostly based on Android. I think Microsoft will lose against Android just like they are with tablets and Smartphones. Sure, in most cases you can't control the thing with gestures and voice, but I don't think that that is much of a selling point. Not to most users that is.

It doesn't make the Xbox One useless though. It's nice to have a broad variety of devices so everyone can oick the one they like. But I just don't see the Xbox One being "the next big thing" that everyone wants in their living room.

does it have the potential to automatically play pornos when it watches me wanking?

i know kinect does!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It won't play Xbone games.
It won't show me what my friends are playing/watching.
It won't have the NFL app.
It won't play Blurays.
It won't allow me to Skype with my friends.

Among many other things. Also, hasn't this been around for awhile? I swear I remember Samsung showing these off early last year.

Smart TVs are going to play 8th gen games?

Games are the Xbox One's main selling point ya know. Take that away and it wouldn't get much attention.

Thanks for making my point. 400-500 for my Xbox One or 1500 to 2000 for a limited TV.

MS paved the way with nothing the Eyetoy did it first. Sony and Apple turned down primesense. MS has made convincing settop box but its just an addition.

Yes the eye toy was out first. So where web cams that did similar things. MS happened to do it right, and to make it a success. Its in that way that they paved the way, they made kinect a success and they are making kinect 2.0 a requirement. That is how you pave the way for something, you make it happen and you make it main stream. It doesn't necissarily mean first to market
