Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One has “CPU and storage equivalent of three consoles on the cloud”

You are all confusing "cloud support" with "cloud streaming/gaming" -.-
They will have power to get bigger things in games, more awesome effects, explosions, big worlds and challenges for tons of gamers at the same time. It's only about sending some numbers if done right, not sending the whole game. It will process some collision calculation for example and send back data to the console which then adds those results to its output. If the connection fails, the console can calculate/render/bla a smaller (actual) thing. It's not like it will stop the game and boot you back to the menu ... if you don't know shit about technology, stop posting and shouting your "opinion" which is just "I hate it because I don't get it".

Nowadays additions are always bad for people. You can do everything you could do in the past + new things! Oh? I only want to do the things I could do in the past so this is shit! Haha

Around the Network

This isn't new....the only company left out of this ability is Nintendo really.

bullshit PR crap, CPU is limited to your connection and having this is very very pointless, its like going wanting to go upstairs but instead of taking the stairs you go downstairs and take the elevator back up again.

Digital Foundry presents evidence-based analysis on what Microsoft's cloud tech brings to the next era in console gaming.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

So does this mean you won't need to buy a console?

Around the Network

So what will happen when the cloud is shut down?

I LOVE ICELAND!

What does it take to stop this endless cloud bullshit? Thread after thread pops up here on the forum, it gets really boring after the 2456th "The cloud is saving XBox One" thread.
Unbelievable how people are hyping up this cloud pr bullshit. Does it really hurt that much that the XBox One is slightly less powerful than the PS4 that people have to repeat this cloud pr bullshit. Do you really think that 300'000 servers (of which many might actually be virtual servers, not actual hardware) will make millions of XBox Ones faster by some miraculous new technology? Or are they all playing chess in the end (the only game that could really profit from cloud computing)?

if sony said it did would you believe it?

Well, this is quite the same thing we have learn in the past days but still awesome :)
Microsoft Azure is already working and using it to power the Xbox One is a great idea.

I cannot wait to see Skyrim like games running on Xbox One with cloud processing handling all the world events,NPCs, etc...

Does your quest auto fail if your connection is interrupted?

ahah I guess they will have to keep that in mind while designing it. At the same time; I'm usually playing only online so for me when my internet connection goes down; it is already over. I do not see the why this would be different. I'm all for this :)

But the developpers will have the choice to dynamically fallback on the local CPU if needed: like you send your processing request on the cloud, if no response in a specified amount of time, you just compute it locally). This is very easy to imlement.

They would need to do something, that's all I know. I am stuck with Optimum Online and my town reps are assholes and I can't even get Fios in my area. My connection also tend to drop in and out every one in a while, especially when on the PC. Of course they blame my router and all that crap, but I know it just comes down to shit service.

I can't have the next Elder Scrolls relying on my internet. No way!

I don't live on no rural area either. I live in fucking New York!!!

Have you tried updating the firmware for your wireless card/router?

Everything is up to date. I think it has something to do with the line coming into the house, but cablevision keeps blaming it on us and not themselves.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The problem here is many are assuming Microsoft didnt have this as part of the plan all along. They are assuming that Microsoft is using this because The One is possibly slightly less powered in hardware for 'visuals' Whereas many say its more powerful for Multitasking.

Microsoft are saying they have developed enough cloud room for every Xbxo One to use it sold right out of the box. Thats years of planning not a reaction 2 months after Sony reveal.
