What does it take to stop this endless cloud bullshit? Thread after thread pops up here on the forum, it gets really boring after the 2456th "The cloud is saving XBox One" thread.
Unbelievable how people are hyping up this cloud pr bullshit. Does it really hurt that much that the XBox One is slightly less powerful than the PS4 that people have to repeat this cloud pr bullshit. Do you really think that 300'000 servers (of which many might actually be virtual servers, not actual hardware) will make millions of XBox Ones faster by some miraculous new technology? Or are they all playing chess in the end (the only game that could really profit from cloud computing)?

Moderated,

-Mr Khan

if sony said it did would you believe it?

The problem here is many are assuming Microsoft didnt have this as part of the plan all along. They are assuming that Microsoft is using this because The One is possibly slightly less powered in hardware for 'visuals' Whereas many say its more powerful for Multitasking.

Microsoft are saying they have developed enough cloud room for every Xbxo One to use it sold right out of the box. Thats years of planning not a reaction 2 months after Sony reveal.

right

But then we will be in a vicious cycle, someone posts link, someone drinks and forgets, someone posts link, someone drinks and forgets................

Maybe then Microsoft will stop with this Bullshit PR.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

It's bull how can cloud storage give a console more power

This article is talking about cloud processing (like getting machines to work in tandem to process a task).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_cluster

@OP. I agree with Ssenkhadavic. Until we see it in realtime, with a fallback mechanism that lowers the visual output if the internet goes down, would need to be demoed. I'm also not sure how much of the foreground would be rendered with this technology given internet latency.

I can see this being used in open worlds for very far objects, just given the latency I don't think this is very applicable for near-sight.

Also, can you guys shut up about "bullshit PR"? There may well be some application to cloud processing for gaming, it has yet to be seen so let's keep an open mind for now.

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL companies have bs pr.  when will sony stop?

but have you been to microsoft to see what you are calling cough cough b.s. first hand in person instead of getting in your corner standing on a soap box.  nope you haven't.  truth is only people that know what can or can't be done is microsoft and their developers.  so until the developers say screw microsoft or naysaying articles proove otherwise just move along

I can get behind the idea of Cloud storage being. Cloud storage mostly contains stuff that isn't latency dependant, but on the CPU part I'm calling BS. I wanna see it work perfectly ( 3x) for 1 person on 1 game, but i doubt we will see that in a while.

People post this link because it helps there arguement.

The very same people dismiss actual developers who have nothing to do with Microsoft saying its really good. And are actually currently making games using it.

Thats what the interent does. Cherry pick articles that favour their system. Even if it means taking an editors opinion over a developers full incite who is actually using the tools to create games.

The article points out the flaws and limitations of their Cloud Computing idea. Yeah they can use it for stuff that isn't latency dependant. I wanna see me proven wrong, but i doubt we shall see anything interesting due anytime soon.

Here are the problems. It basically means you gotta be always online. (Maybe it will work for mmorpgs?). As i stated earlier. I wanna see a full demo for 1 game with 1 player. If it dosen't work as intended or has latency issues we wont be seeing it anytime soon. If that 1 player has some latency issues already think what happens when thousands of players try to use the same servers.

The idea is nice, but we are far from achieving the full potential from it.

There could be a fallback mechanism or dynamic graphic setting that throttles depending on the connection setting.

Don't you think the hundreds/thousands of engineers at MS thought about these considerations?

i think XboxONE ads will always end with... Better With Online...
