Wow I just saw that they're saying the Vita version will be the definitive version of the game!! All Wii U "exclusive" (lol) features plus extra vita levels.

That's a very clear message Ubisoft are sending to Nintendo.

Ubisoft: "Nintendo, if you want better support from us, your platforms need to fail harder. It's in our blood to root for the least liked things in the world, because we are French."

Nothing fails harder at the moment then the U, so they are covered

OT: was expected. The #DS version of Origins was  anightmare, so I am not surprised that the 3DS is not getting a port. Also sales speek for themselves: Rayman Origins Vita 320k+downloads, Rayman Origins 3DS 40k...

i am very happy with this announcement. at first, rayman was one game i added to my hypothetical buy-list on the wiiu (i will probably buy one after a pricecut).
but now, since i'll be able to play it on the go on a very nice screen, i will go for that. and really, the vita is the right place for the rayman games... awesome news!

hope this sells.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

I'm very happy about this! In Europe we will get Origins for VITA on PSN+ next month so I can play it in time for Legends to come out

So Rayman Legends is arrive on Vita alongside the console versions in august. IMO Vita is the most ideal platform for the game. Not only would gameplay be perfect on a handheld, the rear touch panel allows for seemless platforming, whilst manipulating the environment.

Hopefully Ubisoft and Sony push this, I would love to see Rayman legends and Killzone bundles come this september. Also can we give Ubisoft respect for putting games on the platforms which they deserve. First WatchDogs on Wii U and now this. I hope EA is paying close attention!

no it is not

Touch screen without having to look away from the main action? I think so.

OT: I'm surprised there is no 3DS version. Maybe they thought they would have to change it too much for that.

touchscreen without seeing where you're touching? I don't think so.

Well, they did do a poor job porting the game.  It didn't HAVE to be as bad as it was.

Has Ubisoft said anything about crossplay for PS3 and Vita ?

That would be really great.

This game was specifically designed with the WiiU in mind. Anyone who played the (free!) Challenge App will notice that.

While it´s great news, so everyone will be able to play it on their favorite platform, it´s clear that the game won´t play as smooth and well on other platforms as it is on WiiU

The Vita version can be great, since the touch screen can be used for the Murphy stages, it would be a great idea if they were able to adapt it for a combined Vita+PS3 gameplay - mimicking a Gamepad (though I bet very few people would try it), but the multiplayer designed levels of the game will be hurted anyway, since more than one console will be needed for that. On the WiiU you can have it with only a few old wiimotes.

Handhelds always fail when it comes to local multipayer. I'm playing Powerstone Collectionright now on Vita, and it desperately needs a local MP. For rayman I think its more of minor addition as opposed to a big art of the experience. I can't help but wish that sony reveal some sort of Vita Big screen functionality where you can play Vita games on your PS4, whilst allowing local MP with a PS4 control and gaikia handeling the processing. Probably a pipe dream but still....

After the decent sales of Origins on the platform, it was a good decision.
