Forums - Sony - Isn't PS4 just as capable of multi-media as XB0?

Sony at some point always takes the media stuff MS pioneers and adds it to their own.

But since they are below the radar and they talk about exclusives, its totz ok.

Did you know that PS3 had YouTube first?

Did you know that PS3 had HULU first?

Did you know that PS3 had Amazon Video first?

Did you know that PS3 had MLB first?

Did you know that PS3 had NFL football first (Direct TV/NFL Sunday Ticket)

Did you know that PS3 had the ability to VIDEO CHAT for years before the XBOX 360 did?

I suspect you didn't and you just ignored all of that.

The problem with Sony and multimedia has always been the software, it doesn't run as well and it isn't as well polished, the ps4 can certainly do all the things xboxone can do it just won't have as good of software running it.

Of course this will be true again because, like the previous gen, the PS4 will appear 12-15 months later than XBox One.

(Oh no.. wait.... this time we start at the same time with essentially the same PC architecture)

I know you understand I'm talking about the software running the multimedia operations not gaming software.  As I have stated numerous times, for every one programmer Sony has working on their internal software Microsoft has two more qualified employees employees working on theirs.  They always will,  when the best os programmers go looking for work Sony isn't number on the list never has been never will be.  Hell it's not even MS anymore but there talent pool is still much bigger than sony's

The only big limit seems to be the internet connection - Xone has a really fast one.

wtf???? You get the internet connection you pay for. From your local cable company/through your local company's cable.

I'm refering to the hardware on the system.  As when the Xbox came out - most people used modems, while in ONLY had an either net connection.

The Xbox One has a Gigabit Ethernet.  The PS4's intenet connection at max, can only do 1/10 Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX)  Granted most people don't have that fast an internet (yet).  But if Google Fiber keeps expanding that may change.

But yes, if you only have something like a 30mb/s internet doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure the PS4 will also have a Gigabit Ethernet port seeing as the PS3 already has one.

Actually, the PS4 has 10/100/1000 Ethernet, so using 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T.

Even the PS3 has Gigabit Ethernet, which is what the Xbox One has.

Sony is a media company. Of coarse they will deliver lol.

Besides microsoft pays Sony for it's media AND now bluray. So they'll all have the same features, give or take.

PS4 doesn't appear to be a TV box. But it will definetely have multimidia functionalities like all other Playstation consoles had.

Dude...Apps, Blu Ray, Cloud...current gen Sony started all of that.

So which app was first on Sony? Which cloud-stuff did they start Sony first? Dude, even if what does it say about quality?
