There is plenty of other bad news, not just what is mentioned in the title. (lot of good news too ;)

Any news you consider bad probably isn't in the same ball park as the DRM news.

Sure, but the online requirements have basically been listed just as much as the DRM news as reasons for not getting the XBox One.  Just sayin.

The online requirements are part of the DRM it seems.

makes zero difference

I don't rent games any more and I don't buy used.

Ditto

I've never bought a used game in my life so.....big whoop

Besides, I'm willing to bet Sony has very similar systems in place to what MS is doing

The DRM was just the final nail for me, but I wasn't looking forward to the Xbox One to begin with. Generally have taste for JRPG, and I don't feel the Xbox One will really cater towards me in that way (The 360 tried at the start, and hence why I had an xbox and was a fan). In terms of WRPG I know the 360 will cater that, but nothing that the PC doesn't already do (unless you count fable....which to be honest with anyone....is one of the worse WRPG series for me).

I feel sorry for all game stores (Outside of the biggest which is Gamestop), since they lose out on profits of selling games now, since new copies of games don't yield much.

The Xbox one is actually looking pretty damn good to me despite the drawbacks. I'm one of the lucky ones that don't buy used games, don't rely on borrowing from friends, have a great Internet connection and have Comcast as my cable provider so I am incredibly fortunate in this situation. I have also grown quite fond of purchasing digital versions of retail games when available as I am used to doing this on pc for years. I can't wait for E3, Microsoft and Sony are gonna kill it. Every Xbox fan should at least give Microsoft the chance to redeem themselves at E3, I for sure am.

Possibly, but I dont see the advantage in doing that at all.

They are basically trying to shut out the  secondhand dealer, and games are like any other sort of packaged media - books, DVD's, etc.  They should be able to be resold when not wanted anymore, to try and go the opposite way seems like it's against the norms of economics or something.

I am always online anyway all the time and I haven't bought *any* used game until now. So no, it doesn't bother me. But I will wait until the slim-version.

Fable is on pc, including 3 lol

I buy a lot (not all) of my games new KNOWING that I can later sell them to recoup some of that cost. If DRM diminishes the used value, I'll just have to pay LESS for that game new. If DRM eliminates the used value, I will have to pay DRASTICALLY less new, or not buy.

Ill get it eventually, but it sure as hell wont be a launch buy.

Its not just the DRM. Its the lack of information regarding anywhere that isnt America.

Yeah it suck that something that ms does in the US you cant get in the UK, forget that nobody else does it in the first place and therefore you cant get it from them either.

broken logic.

I don't think it's broken logic. Those services are meant to add value to the device, right? Well, those services don't exist in the EU, therefore the device has less value to an EU customer than it would to a US customer. A competing device might not offer that service anywhere, but that just means that there's no differentiation on that point to an EU customer.

I think you just made my point.

I don't think I did. Carl is saying he'd be a lot more likely to buy the console on launch day if all the services were available in his region. Y'know, if it had more value to him. It's not broken logic for him to say so.

hmm I was deciding between xbox one and ps4 for launch. After seeing both presentations, I'm leaning more towards ps4. There is till e3 to wow me though so nothing is set in stone. As for the whole drm thing, I find it somewhat of an annoyance. I do buy used games sometimes, but usually go for the new copy. I do like trading in my older games toward the new ones to save a bit of money. The whole, must be online once every 24 hours or whatever is fine with me. It doesn't really seem like such a big deal. I was rather impressed by the kinect to tv functions for the xbox one. I wanted more info on illumiroom too. There seems to be way too much conflicting info on the xbox one currently.
