I could easily live without EA.

Not putting a poll in the topic is a big miss. :(

I think they're alright. I dislike some of their business practices and mentalities, but I have great respect for some of their development studios (namely EA DICE).

Their ethics (or whatever you want to call it) are near horrendous. I think they are the definition of a company with no emotion, just money to throw around at things. Which isn't a good thing, really.

Their games I could live without. Some I do enjoy, most are just meh, though.

All together, they are above bad and below average for me. So between evil and that grey area. :P

They ruin everything they touch.

DICE is shoving Origin down our throats. EA has a graveyard of actually good publishers that were the victims of hostile takeovers (including some of my favorite game makers of all time). They think they get to decide what console maker succeeds and who fails. They love DRM. Most of their games are mediocre and their sports monopoly is anti-competitive and unethical.

All in all, I don't like EA that much.

would you say they have ruined Criterion? they have made some amazing racers this gen, burnout paradise, nfs most wanted, nfs hot pursuit. Otherwise i mostly agree with you, much of what EA makes is nothing special

Now that you meantion it, Criterion has survived remarkably long. So did Maxis, though until that one succumbed.

Every rule has an exception I guess.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Aside of Mass Effect (although the credit goes to Bioware not EA), there's nothing really interesting coming from them. And I don't like Origin, it sucks so much is not even funny, thankfully I only had to used it once (for Mass Effect 3).

I actually don't own any EA games. I don't hate them. It's not like I don't find their games appealing either....I'm neutral against EA.

I have a slightly negative view of them. They seem to be a troubled company, more interested in being the biggest publisher of games than making profit. Hence, their squandering of small to medium sized franchises that are still profitable. Their lack of support for Nintendo systems is excusable, but their reasoning for doing so seems dishonest. Plus, some of their policies involving DLC and DRM seem unnecessarily cruel to customers.

That said, EA has some of the best developers in the world working for them.

That being said, I haven't bought one of their games since 2009.

They make NHL which is fine with me. Dead Space took a turn for the worse. I understand they are company trying to make as big of a profit as possible but I do question if they do care about the general customer.

Sadly they make a few products I like, such as Dragon's Age, Dante's Inferno and Crysis, but I hate them as a company.
