EA are arguably the biggest 3rd party publisher in the business. They make brilliant games and have brilliant dev teams, despite this they divide opinion and many people dislike them.

I like them, they make some excellent games for the platforms I own.

I dont hate them. But I think they have the wrong idea of what sells. If a game is good, it will sell as long as you have nice advertisement. There is not need to turn them in shooters, or change things in the simplistic way. Having said so, I did enjoy a lot Dead Space 3, ME3 (but hated the ending), and DA2 (even though it was much simpler). I really dont care about the micro DLCs, because those are not needed for you to enjoy and complete the game.

Just as always, if dont like something dont buy it. I hate C&C being free to play, that is why I wont touch it, but still, so far I enjoy some EA franchises, so I will continue to buy them.

Even discussing them makes me want to start throwing things anymore.

Edit: though i'm starting to think something's wrong. Past few days my temper's been far shorter even than normal, and i think my anger on here is an effect, not a root cause.

They buy off and kill companies like westwood, ruining their own franchises to appeal to the CoD crowd, blaming the players for not buying their crap, taking out a ending to a game then selling it as DLC. Of course people will defend them.

Indifferent ... only games I own from them are the Mass Effect Trilogy and Shank 2. I hear mixed things about them, but I have no major complaints at this point. Mass Effect 2 on PS3 is one of my favorite games, and while the third game is flawed in many ways, it is still great. I can't speak about their 'practices'. Mostly hear say and I won't voice things I hear from people if I didn't experience them personally.

Neutral but leaning towards positive.

+I love Battlefield. Frostbite engine is also very impressive.
+Their sports games are undeniable blockbusters. Sim series as well.

-They killed Command & Conquer. I mourn Westwood studios.
-Overly bloated corporation unable to turn a profit (like many others though).

I will never forgive them for ruining Dead Space.


But at the same them I can't blame them for trying to maximize their profits. They are a freakin' company, after all.
