I dunno. When EA commits money to a project the games come out huge. The only issue is the back up plan if things go horribly wrong. With all the capable studios EA has they have very little chances of failing. If something fails its EA's fault. I say give them a shot.

True.. it cant get any worse can it?.. i dont remember enjoying a starwars game in a long time now.. 

I remember enjoying a Star Wars game when Bioware made it and EA owns them now. Coupled with Dice and Visceral? That has the potential to destroy everything KOTOR ever was based on talent. I say Dice/Bioware/Visceral > Bioware/ Obsidian. The only thing that can hold them down is EA. Give them a chance, because Disney wouldn't have known what the hell to do with the license.

Why would you even question this? The core Star Wars fanboys alone surely could buy enough software to make it aleast slightly successful without a movie releasing near the same date. Star Wars fans stretch over many different generations... Pachter, come on now...

JJ Abrams is behind the Star Trek reboot.  Isn't he also doing Star Wars?  It is possible he can fire up a new generation with more Star Wars.  Star Wars IS iconic.  It has potential to do big if done right.

Kids LOVED the prequels.  I know some (around 16) that STILL talk about them a lot.  Lucas, love him or hate him, did exactly what a good businessman does and created a whole new generation of fans and that's why Disney paid what it did for Lucasfilm.  They KNOW the value.

Star Wars is still huge and going to get a huge shot in the arm with the upcoming trilogy of films (Even if the movies suck Disney will advertise the shit out of them) and stuff like the The Clone Wars series has done a decent job of attracting a new people to the franchise. And the best selling Star Wars games are the Lego ones BTW LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga rocking in at 5.08m on Wii, 1.94m on X360, 1.82m on PS3 for 8.84m plus 4.46m on DS according to VGChartz the games was also released on PC. Star Wars is still huge with kids.

If DICE are making a new Battlefront that will be huge as well.
