They won't. Sales are lagging for both consoles. Perhaps at 2014 they'll cross the line.

You do realize that there are still games coming for 360, right? Obviously not as big as TLOU or Beyond, but games are games. And we don't know how the E3 will play out for the big two (After all Nintendo will not make a huge presence there this year), so we can only wait and see. I stand still with my predictions about hardware, though.

The sales are lagging for both consoles but Sony outsells Microsoft every year until fourth Quarter. All Sony needs to do is to beat Microsoft by a million to match sales and then eventually surpass them.

There are games coming for the 360 but the established consumer base use XBLA. Theres no major titles, no first or second party. Its all third party and again...if I am wrong I can only be proven wrong by Microsoft at E3.

P.S.

One way to truly know me if to understand that my opinions are only based on the moment, not the future. I could be wrong and if I am I accept that. I am just going by what the numbers and marketing have been showing.

But we're still waiting for Sony to do that. You can counter-argue by saying that the Xbox360 had one year more to establish its franchise, and that a percentaje among the 10% is people who bought another after a RROD. And yes, but still, the so "only does everything" hasn't beaten its competitors. It has regained its original fanbase, I'll give you that. These last years have been good for Sony.

I wasn't talking about XBLA. There are second party games coming this year to the Xbox360. E3 can also make that number bigger, but there are releases already confirmed. (Partially exclusive, as some of those games will be on PC as well).

P.S.

I know. I'm just enjoying this discussion though =P

Gears has already passed. What other third party titles are you talking about?

P.S.

I knew you knew, I just wanted you to say you knew what I thought you.....you know?

Poor, poor analogy. The race has a fixed target - 100m, 200m, etc. A console race doesn't. Anything else to say?

Last week, I ran a race against Patrick Makau Musyoki. The race didn't have any fixed target; we were just racing to see who would get the furthest before one of us collapsed and gave up. After a few hours, Patrick has ran about 30 miles. I have ran about 20 miles. Patrick looked back and saw the 10 mile gap and he laughed at my ridiculous pace. He started to walk, then he literally stopped. At one moment, it looked like he even went in reverse a bit. But I kept going and, for a while, I was moving at a faster pace then he was (since he was walking). I got that 10 mile gap down to 8, but I don't know if I can run another 5 miles, let alone 8, before I pass out. Who knows though, maybe I'll get lucky and unlock my hidden potential and I will be able to the entire 8 miles without passing out. Maybe, maybe....

Who is winning?!? I know I'm 8 miles behind but I'm moving faster!

Now this what you call a great analogy. Well done sire, well done.

I don't think america is very brand loyal in general, they go for whatever is best and thats the 360.

Therefore PS4 has a chance in NA providing Sony don't fuck up the launch like they did with PS3. Unlike Japan and Europe where brand name means everything. I'm surprised 360 made it this far in Europe considering how big the Sony brand is over there.

Lol nice spin there

How is it spin? I see nothing wrong with that statement. America has proven they are obviously not as biased (like Japan, and to an extent, even Europe) by giving all of the big 3 a fair shake. Last generation, Sony was the king here, Nintendo and MS were nowhere close with their Gamecube and Xbox. That is because PS2 was the best option. This generation, it's all about the Wii, and more recently the 360. This is because they simply are the better options. Sony may have rebounded pretty nicely with a stronger library and cheaper price, but they simply started too rocky in North America to recover with the outraguous price and lack of compelling games for the first couple of years. But Sony can certainly win back North America if they prove they are once again the best option, and if they truly are, Americans will see that.

Why not? The PS2 sold something like 50M after the PS3 launched.

I believe it was more like 40m.

But the PS2 dominated the 6th gen while PS3 is still gonna compete with other popular 7th gen consoles.

The PS2 was only $129 when PS3 launched for $600. So people probably settled for Sony's old hardware while they waited for PS3 to become more affordable. I don't think PS4 is going to have that price issue.

This. Multiplatform games were one thing, but Microsoft lured people in with Xbox Live. people were willing to buy new 360's because all of their friends had invested in Xbox Live. The legions of dudebros bought COD and thats all she wrote.

The last one is Arcade indeed (XBLA), but it is free-to-play, so that's always worth mentioning =P

P.S.

Aeh...I think you know what I know, just to say I know what you think I know.

This.

Kind of random statement if you ask me :)
Let me try, "I think people undestimate how fickle EU consumers are. It is more than possible for Microsoft to recapture Europe"...

The only information we have about Sony on the US market is that Microsoft is dominating them right now and nothing is pointing out any kind of upcoming changes to that so far. The PS4 reveal (or no-reveal... call it like you want) was okay but nothing spectacular and Microsoft would need a HUGE flop to lose this momemtum with the Xbox 360. Even with a so-so conference showing almost nothing like Sony did they would keep this leading position in NA imo.
