YEah, it really seems to the case. We're getting all kind of 3DS goodness, yet we hear nothing about Wii U... They must be announcing everything 3DS so they can focus on Wii U.

Right, I forgot that.

Oh yes! Megaton after megaton after megaton! It would have been a two hour conference that would have pwned E3

That would really suck... Why they even did that last year?? E3 sucked last year, only good one was Ubisoft. Sony was pretty decent as well, but far from stellar.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. First of all the pics aren't even similar in the way they were taken. Ife I showed the back of Mario in Mario 64 and Galaxy and Galaxy 2 like the Sony games show of Uncharted they would look the same. If I showed the side of mario in a kart for Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart (whatever gamecube version was named), mario kart double dash it would all look the same. |
come on, it is only a funny pic, making fun of people declaring (falsely so) Nintendo only does rehashes of old IPs. Yes Sony does Last of Us and stuff like that, but as the talk switches to Nintendo instantly new IPs don't count, like Dillon's Rolling Western, Pullblox, Xenoblade Chronicles and so on. For Nintendo it is only the 'rehashes' that count. I can't really criticise Nintendo for releasing successful franchises like Mario or Mario Kart, as long as they do the new stuff. Same for Sony, they have Last of us, but they would be dumb if they stop releasing a new GT or God of War.

As for the Wiimote, I agree with you. They could give us the choice to use gamepad with the screen as a scanner (like lego city) or choose the wiimote and use the old school mechanic for the scanner. But personally, I agree that wiimote was great in prime3, but I've played dozens shooters with dual analogue, so going back to dual analogue for prime would'nt be the end of the world for me. |
I just feel that I've played 3 Prime games already, I'd rather something fresh. Besides, Prime 3 closed off the trilogy nicely with the destruction of Phazon, a fourth just isn't necessary in my view. I'd rather they made a new IP, or a Starfox without crappy on-foot stuff.
I would love for Retro's game to be something amazing and western styled - as in impressive production, online, mature themed, lots of action. It could be an all-new ip, or it could be a totally re-imagined Metroid. Not Prime 4. It was in that big rumor a while back that it could be a 2 player co-op where one player is Samus and another is an alien, that there was a world split in two, with time travel and so on. That sounds pretty awesome to me. Imagine a game like that was shown, with Killzone 4 level visuals. Re-style Samus's armor into something a bit cooler, have great online deathmatch, maybe don't even call it metroid, just have it in the same universe. Each player plays different, maybe Samus using the remote/nunchuck while the alien partner plays dual-analog on the gamepad screen. That would blow my mind if done well.

I don't know. Nintendo would have won E3 if they had shown all that but I'm guessing it was because they were not ready to show it off.

Nintendo really should have won that e3; it was theirs to lose. A new console should mean lots of games, and then we had the 3DS as well... Man they really dropped the ball :P
