But he didn't SAY that. He doesn't understand why Japanese developers release Japanese games in non Japanese territories. Chibi Robo is a good example of this. Neat game, but really? It's not going to sell in the US, yet they released it anyway. That's what he's talking about.
I love Japanese games too, more than Western games, but over 90% of them should stay in Japan if we're just talking business.

Because people (read:gaming media) keep trying to make him one. In the attempts to add legitmacy to the industry, this guy somehow is seen as trusted or reliable.
Best games still come from Japan (well, most unique at least), but also worst games come from Japan.And as we know, most japanese companies have not really got into this generation on home consoles..I think reason was success of Psp/Ds in japan and Xbox360/Ps3 low sales in early days.And well they don't really share teir technology..Actually only Nintendo,Sony and maybe Konami are companys that are doing fine on this gen home consoles.
