Draw distance.
Lighting.
The guy on the left.
The rough, grips on the gun.
Imperfections on the gun.
The gun actually looks real.

Its because it looks real. Under more favourible lighting condition where you have specular light higlighting the grooves etc I'm sure it'll shiny CGI-like, which is probably what most people will prefer.
Realism does not always equate to pretty.

I think some of you guys should play Battlefield 3 first.
Those BF4 images show how little graphics have been improved on "next-gen".

Which 5? I may agree with you but I can't think of any myself at the moment. Deep Down doesn't count because it wasn't gameplay.

Unless thats the console version it doesn't count. It like comparing doom 3 on high settings to an Xbox360 launch title. Very little difference obviously. Generations are for consoles.

Still, games do have generations. BF3 is a last gen game that happens to have a PC release. I think it's fair to put the PC version in comparison here, since it is still a last-gen vs current-gen comparison.
