I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesn't check IPs but just compares your NNID and console settings. Had the problem myself when changing countries inside of Europe for some strange reason, when I couldn't access the eShop with my Dutch NNID if I set my console to Spanish/Spain (maybe the same thing happens if you change state in the US???). NNIDs are linked to your console SN and country you register, the country can't be changed afterwards... or at least that is what the customer service told me. Solution: set your console to the country you desire and make a new NNID registered in that country. |
Thanks :)
Didn't know a person could create multiple NNID's, that's great to know. Had similar problems with my Wii, then simply changed the country and it never warned me anything about my IP address not being from a US ISP, many people have VPN's or Proxy's so it OK they don't rely on region specific IP addresses.
However problem might still exist with the credit card. If they accept Paypal or another similar service as a valid payment method, then it might be possible to buy games digitally for me.
