I have a sick feeling that Lego Undercover and Bayonetta 2 will be multiplat soon. First it was Ray-man, then Ninja Gaiden.

since nintendo funded bayonetta 2, there is no way it will be multiplat

They funded and published Banjo Kazooie and Tooie too, as well as partially funded and published Razor's Edge, and look where those are. I'd be surprised if Nintendo is funding this is it's entirety rather than a good portion, just as I'd be surprised if Sega didn't sign off on an escape deal where if the game sells below a certain amount, they'll be allowed to bring the game to other platforms after a certain amount of time.

SEGA cancelled the game. Nintendo isnt doing only publishing here, they are funding the development. On the cases you mention, first Rare held the rights for the series and was bough by Microsoft. Tecmo holds the rights of developing and publishing of Ninja gaiden. Razor's edge was a timed exclusive for Nintendo.

SEGA holds the rights for bayonetta series as far as i can tell, but Nintendo definitly holds the rights for Bayonetta 2. I doubt Nintendo would be that daft not to ensure the game is exclusive to them after funding the development SEGA refused to do.

As a consumer it would be great for it to be multiplat and for the first to be on the Wii U, but exclusives sell systems! I'd much rather have it stay on Wii U and help out with the console sales.

You guys do realize that Bayonetta 2 is the equivalent of a second party title? The game is being exectutively produced by Nintendo, it won't be on any other consoles unless Nintendo licenses it to be so.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

You do realize this is hypothetical?

As others pointed out it is only hypothetical, Bayonetta 2 will stay exclusive.

But answering the hypothetical question: As a gamer I want every game to be multiplat. We don't win with exclusives.

Yes we do; we get games that are actually tailored to make the most of a specific console, something multiplats rarely do.

You're wrong. That was true earlier, as consoles had really special chipsets. Today porting involves mostly compiling it for the new platform, testing, looking for framerate-drops and eventually adjust texture.-quality, effects and polygon-count. The only special thing are input-devices, but thats mostly not that important. Although ZombiU makes good use of the gamepad, I think it is possible to port it to different input-schemes. But the differences between CPU and GPU are mostly the power, and that can be adjusted to with graphical quality.

You get better technical results building a game around one console's hardware than porting, which is why the best looking console games of any generation are exclusives.

And input devices matter more than graphics. Imagine playing Wii Sports Resort with a dualshock.

not sure I give a shit but Bayo on PS3 was the version I got so uh....

I think it just doesn't make sense that Bayonetta 2 is exclusive to Wii U. If the original game couldn't sell well on PS3/360 then what makes Platinum Games think it will sell better on a Nintendo console of all places? I know I'm very interested to see how this game sells as it could make or break future exclusivity deals on Wii U.
