so you say 10 millions (besides gta) from 152 millions is 1. 10 percent and 2 that impressive when the 50 % attach rate on super mario bros u doesn't impress nintendo haters at all? exposed sorry.

you've gotta be kidding me.  That's what 4 months into a life cycle?  Besides I'm saying PS consoles apply to a wide range of customers.  People could've bought PS3 for GoW, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Warhawk, Resistance, Killzone, or maybe LBP but not necissarily all of them.  Not to mention Sony normally starts new franchises each gen so they don't have a mario that everyone gets that game when they buy the system.  Nintendo relies on fewer exclusives and only comes out with 1 or maybe 2 in a franchise per gen plus they normally have a lot of content and don't require a previous one to get the story so people just keep buying them the whole gen.  Sony did that with GT this gen and look how well it continues to sell.  It's gonna be 10 million on much less of an install base.  They're just different strategies it doesn't make the games better or Wii Sports would be better than any Zelda

My thing is; The Wii U does not feel like a next gen console. It really, really does not. What kind of next gen consoles gets a bunch of enhanced ports from established franchise? Obviously, there were exceptions like ZombiU. They should have held off until they had mario galaxy 3 or the next big zelda game.

How about the Xbox 360?

As far as the Wii U goes, I think people are fooling themselves. The system isn't "dead" right now, but it will be soon. There's nothing between now and Autumn that has even a chance of seriously affecting sales.

I can't say i recall the 360 line up but it couldn't have been as confusing as the Wii U.

I doubt nintendo is just gonna let it roll over and die. I'm sure they got something up their sleeve but the Wii U has very little reason to be bought right now. Not even NSMB U carried it while it was hot off.

Look it up. A lot of the games were last gen games ported to the 360, or multiplats that released on Xbox and Xbox 360.

And Nintendo can't conjure games out of thin air, nor can they afford to drop the price right now. The games coming between now and Autumn will help, but they can't make a serious dent right now.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

I have absolutely no problem with stating the obvious, because the truth is pretty much self evident. Nintendo has given the market yet another failed platform. People act as if Nintendo isn't known for offering up products that just fail to launch, but they have done so quite often. They also have a horrid habit of abandoning platforms. Sometimes it seems before they even launch them onto the market. This is the company after all that gave the world such gems as the Virtual Boy, Super Scope, 64DD, Power Glove, Rob the Robot, and the Four Score.

So now that I have addressed the issue that it is guaranteed to survive no matter what. Which it most certainly isn't, because Nintendo has been known to dump and run. I can move onto the issue of why it is failing. The console itself doesn't have any technological, or even technical merits. Their competitors are going to dwarf them in hardware capabilities, and they are just plain incredibly likely to offer up a better service through their systems. Nintendo is going to appear painfully dated in a fair comparison.

That would be bad enough, but Nintendo spent the last generation burning bridges, and I am sure they are lamenting that now, but there is hardly anything they can do about it. Especially considering they botched the launch. Nintendo just plain burned third party developers by generating a niche market. That almost explicitly bought their first party games. While they neglected, insulted, and betrayed their long time core players. Nintendo effectively showed those gamers the door, and told them that they had been replaced. By their new best friends the casual gamers.

Do you think people so mistreated were going to come back for another round with Nintendo. People weren't making it up when they said their console became a dust magnet. A year into the life of that console most of the core loyalists took the not so subtle hint, and migrated over to other platforms. Where they could actually find some games to fill their void. Why would they come back at this point. The last console they got from Nintendo sat on a shelf unused for years. While they have integrated into vastly different communities on other platforms.

Run by companies that will actually fight to the death to keep their business. That are constantly trying to improve their own services, and work with third parties to ensure that their players get the best possible libraries possible. What pull is it you think Nintendo has over people? People learned to live without Nintendo first party games, and the fact that they are not even delivering a steady stream of them with the launch of their new console. Is just a reminder of how inconsistent Nintendo can be when it comes to keeping their platforms playable.

Is there actually any argument for a turnaround. That doesn't start with the logic that says everyone wants to play Nintendo first party games. The problem I have with that logic is this. While both Microsoft and Sony have their own answers to those games. What Nintendo doesn't have an answer for is the great third party games those manufacturers get. This is why Nintendo was slipping before the Wii, and it is why Nintendo should have continued to slip as far as the core is concerned.

why nintendo fan think a Nintendo home console can't fail virtual boy and dreamcast failed wii u will also fail.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

My point was that it was offering the same multiplatform games rather than any that have noticable improvements e.g. NFS:MW on the PS2 compared to 360.

Also it's lacking exclusives. As Mario Karts isn't a core game, same can be said with Zelda, it means that a lot is riding on Smash Bro's which has never been a massively popular genre.

Zelda not a core game? Why, cos it's not spraying blood everywhere and showing Zelda's breasts?

And Smash Bros Brawl sold over 10 million, if that's "not massively popular" then pretty much nothing outside of Maro, COD, Pokemon and Wii Sports is.

Nope - because it's really, really easy.
10 million units on a console that has sold 99 million +. Proportionally, that's not very good when we consider the amount of units sold on the other consoles which have almost 30 millions less sales than the wii.

Uncharted, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Halo, Mass Effect, and Skyrim are easy too, but I bet you'd call at least some of them "core" games.

And regardless of install base, 10 million plus IS a massive number for a console exclusive. And it's predecessor, Melee, sold 7 million on the 22 million selling Gamecube.

it should also be noted that N64 and GC didn't sell very much and only made a profit because Nintendo sold them while making money on each console.  If WiiU sells 21 million I don't think Nintendo will be happy with that (not that they were happy with GC but they made some good money).

you actually know that R.O.B. actually helped the nes? and btw, power glove and the super scope were just licensed by nintendo not made.

They never let a system die besides the virtual boy (the purpose of this thing was to shorten the wait for the n64 and don't let people buy other companies stuff, horrible failed as we all know). i will wait till the next direct which is rumored to be at the end of march. iwata said they made partnerships with 3rd party besides atlas and fire emblem x shin megami tensei.

so many people love to say the hardware is the problem of the wii u. one little reminder for you all. in the history of fucking consoles the most powerful never won the sales race. and the reality will hit you hard with the ps 4.

and to all the "truth" talking nintendo haters. in the end of the day, your opinion is another prediciton. nobody can say how the wii u will do in one year. and this is for sure no dream cast situation at all. learn some history before talking about the "last" nintendo console and them going software.

The funny part is the fact that you can't even prove Ninty ever had the core lol. So why should anyone take your post serious?

Your last statement is ironic. You can't deny what can happen either, because you are entitled to an opinion based on a prediction. Nintendo could perfectly go bankrupt with the WiiU (Which won't, don't worry, they've got 3DS), or might as well win this next-generation. But you don't know. I don't know. Predictions are the key of Vgchartz.

Nintendo to makes inroads before the PS4 and next Microsoft console hit.  Sluggish sales undermine the needed momentum.  It, at least, is going to have to provide the second screen is a needed killer app, or at least it can hold its own in games, eventhough underpowered.  There is reasons to have doubts.

It can be said the Wii U did not do what the Wii did and be an unexpected hit.
