Forums - Gaming - So, errr, Vita is basically done for in North America, right?

release a vita smartphone slider or keep the vita design and add a mobile function as things in the digital world are being combined more and more.

combined with a lot merchandising(especially in the usa people seem to be unable to buy things without being penetrated and tortured by commercials or hypey)some gt,gta, gow and killzone it should sell well.
software sales for 3rd partys are good(rayman sold more on vita than on 3ds (the same rayman nintendonians were crying when it was delayed)or satisfying as most vita owners know how good the system is and how much better it is to play with real control instead of shity touchscreen only mobile games.

Question: do you guys think that the Vita would sell better if it was hacked?

Yes, it worked wonders for the psp but hurt it software wise too.

DS was never hacked so its softwares did great.

It was. You could by a card to put games on. I know this because I had one....... Ironically it got stolen.

So, that means the DS sold poorly or it didn't get hacked. Which one?

I know you're kidding (you are kidding, right?) but your replies made my head explode.

And the PS2 hardware and softwares would have dominate its competitors if it didn't get hacked.

I'm saying it would have been a factor, look at the PSP. No need to get over defensive, if that is what you're doing because honestly I have no clue.

So, you agree that it's a factor. Good to know.

I never said it wasn't. I also said it was never the main reason. I just used other consoles as examples. The PSP being the obvious one.

Calm down.

Come E3, come price-cut. It'll be a different story.

Sony has to go all out this year. Killzone, Uncharted with multiplayer, MGSVita: Phantom Pain (my most anticipated announcement for this E3, Kojima - make it real!), AC: Rising Phoenix, a new CoD (a proper one this time), Final Fantasy X and obviously a GTA.

This fueled by a price cut should be enough to save Vita in NA...

In Europe on top of that we need a good FIFA 14 (a direct 100% port from PS3) and Gran Turismo.

They should also do their best to localise the Japanese games, especially jRPGs. We need them jRPGs.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Handhelds aren't really supported in the west. Sony's studios are western and concentrate on their consoles. Nintendo is Japanese and focus on their handheld.

Last time I checked Sony was a Japanese company too.....

But their studios are mostly concentrated in the US and Europe. SCEJ's output has been fairly minimal this generation. Fortunately they've been restructuring, so they should be a bigger contributor going forward.

Thanks for the heads up, I look forward to seeing what SCEJ has in store.

Does that mean Pachter will be right a second time?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

I think Vita is pretty close to done in its current format but I wouldn't stick a fork in it yet. I would want to see the impact of a price cut, and I think there is potential for Sony to make a VitaPhone, which could be a seller.

Well, NPD showed VGC undertracked Vita for March, so it is considerably better in America than in pre-pricecut Japan. So the point of the thread is basically lost.
