Metascores are just a collection of opinions, they're not objective or any kind of absolute truth.

Yeah, you already agreed that what you feel about Rare's games is nothing but subjective. What Carl argued was that while those games may be shit for you, to millions of other users (the people for whom the products of the current Rare are cattering to) they still make great games.

Hey man I think the sky is green and grass is blue. I don't care what the rest of the world thinks its just their opinions.
It's just a sign of the times.
Remember the time the PS3 released and it didn't have a lot of games?
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

So what is the absolute truth then? Anyone's single opinion?

If you're happy to let your opinions be determined on the aggregate of other people's opinions, that's cool. I'm not, but to each their own.
That's not an insult by the way.

Better to make that transition than...

to this

I love your example of a great Rare game is about 18 years old. I don't think the Xbox audience wants casual platformers. People who want that buy Nintendo consoles.
