Personally, I think they could've done with doing a little bit of work on the animations as well as just HD-ing the game up.

But I cannot tell you how hyped I am about this being announced. One of the best RTS games I have ever played. Very much looking forward to playing it again in HD with Steam Workshop support.

When that theme song started playing the nostalgia hit me like a freight train. My earliest memory is "playing" AOE--"Age of Vampires" as I called it back then, with my older siblings. Good times. I'll definitely have to pick this up.
