The Wii U isn’t Watch Dogs’ lead SKU, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a lesser experience on Nintendo’s console. According to senior producer Dominic Guay, all versions will feature the same kinds of social features.

“So the connectivity between players with mobile devices, the way you can control the city, the immersion, all those are core and on any platforms we’re going to ship on we’re going to make sure we nail those pillars down.”

Watch Dogs is “already running” on Wii U, thanks to the porting work of Ubisoft Bucharest (Romania). The team previously developed the PC version of Assassin’s Creed III and helped out on Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

As of now, the team is thinking about how the GamePad can best be implemented into the experience.

“We’re still investigating how we’ll use the tablet on the Wii U, but with the things I mentioned before, for us it’s not going to be a weird stretch. It’s natural. What’s really cool with Watch Dogs, when we start thinking of those devices, it’s not a weird abstraction, it’s not like I’m a space alien and now I’m using a tablet. Why am I doing that? Aiden Pearce is using a device to control the city, so it’s quite easy to imagine what we could do with that.”

When you think about, the gamepad does come across as a perfect way to use the protagonist's cell phone to control stuff. Seems like it has a lot of potential for things like that.

This might be for the Wii U what Colonial Marines was supposed to be, a game that could make the Wii U version stand out.

If they use the Gamepad well enough I might just get this for the Wii U over the PC.

Romania? Seriously?
My local football team played in the EUROPA league last year against a Romanian team and we went there....oh man....did you know people get killed by wild dogs in that country?
Its hard to believe million dollars cost vg is being developed there...sorry if youre Romanian and reading this....my country sucks nearly as much as yours, though i live in the best part of it...:P

Well, there are bad countries all over the place. Some look better than they are too. But that dog thing is harsh man :/

about the rest: that's what i hoped for to see in the future, gaming companies going more in cheaper countries to reduce costs, that's what the rest of the software industry is doing for years now in china, india, eastern europe and so on. as long as they have enough skill it's great. they can reduce costs dramatically or spend the same amount in development but get much more for it.

Sounds good, let's see how it turns out.
