I'm not denying that articles like this victimize other companies as well. I'm just pointing out a recent article from a major publication that is spreading misinformation. I think it paints a good picture of just how ignorant and brutal the market can be, and not to be so trusting of articles from the media.

Like I said, this is nothing new. I don't like it either, but it's what gets peoples attention.

Yeah, one could almost believe that a new console had been announced with some games, specs and launch window. Its not like other people get excited when a new xbox or Nintendo consoles is revealed and presented and they certainly don't make any threads about it or state that their gaming company is by far the best.

The boards were full of Wii U threads a few months ago, did you come in and complain about those as well? Are you going to complain about the xbox threads that are bound to show up when the nextbox is revealed within the timeframe of E3 this year?

So that doesn't make it any less annoying. In order to make a new thread you have to go into a forum. People can see clear as day if a thread they want to make has been made. Then you have users who make a new thread every 20 minutes to ask if everyone is happy for something else.

If the writer of the article is biased then he/she needs to find a better way to get a rise out of the competitor than this. This makes him/her look ignorant for sure.

I don't think it is bias or something. welcome to the world of journalism. Like every other people journalists only know much about a field they are interested in. Most normal people don't interest in technical specs - especially of a gaming system. so that is the normal mixup, that is to expect from journalism for every field. If you take interest in a field and watch normal news about that field, it is pretty obvious. There is specialized journalism: tech journalism, gaming journalism, sport journalism, economy journalism - they get a bit more of the facts right usually. But the mainstream journalism mixes up RAM and permanent memory. Most normal people I met do that.

There is no special conspiracy against Sony or something.

Not only for gaming. You probably notice it more often for gaming as you take interest in it, but it is the same for other specialiced fields. The journalism about medicine is especially horrible: Never trust articles like 'apples are good for you, water is bad' or stuff like that.

Journalism and news reporting is at a low standard in cultures these days. That's why we pretty much have to think for ourselves. You can't trust everything you read anything...

Or anything you watch. That's why I keep my tinfoil cap on me at all times.
