Series that have failed when going multiplat. after being briefly Ninty exclusive

Going multiplatform wasnt the reason why these games did bad lol.

They did fail on non-Nintendo consoles though.

And exclusivity can be a big draw for people in these days where everything is multiplat.

"We're a development company...Nintendo gives us money, we make Bayonetta 2 and W101, and they sell it...So if Nintendo says 'We're putting Bayonetta 2 on PS360' it'll come out on those platforms...So ask Nintendo about it..."

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well since Nintendo pay for the development and pulblishthem... No chance in HELL

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I'm not sure. Nintendo have given Platinum Games the money to finance Bayonetta 2. Based on what Hideki Kamiya has said I'm not sure.

At the same time we know Platinum Games own the rights to Bayonetta 2, but Nintendo have some control on those rights because they have invested in the IP.

That being said Microsoft supposedly held the rights for Mass Effect 1, yet it went multiplatform eventually. Its possible if the game dosen't sell a lot of copies on the Wii U Nintendo will release the publishing rights for the game. Or maybe they only have control over the rights to Bayonetta 2 for 3 or 4 years. I'm not sure, but I'm hoping for a Mass Defect coup.

i really doubut bayonetta would end up multi platform as it is funded by nintendo.

Right. Imagine if you paid to have something made, and then the makers took it and used it to enriched your competitors. Nintendo's legal ninjas can't possibly be stupid enough to allow such a thing to come to pass. Especially since they came to Platinum Games when the incomplete game was headed for the rubbish bin, Nintendo probably had tremendous leverage in naming the terms of the partnership, and so even if Nintendo wasn't mean enough to get exploitative (which they very well could be, who knows), they would have made the exclusivity clause airtight.

remember microsoft paying 50 million dollars for GTA 4 exclusive episodic content,  but 1  years LATER it was released on ps3, sure nintendo saved the game from going to the rubbish but how much did nintendo pay? they might have payed only for a 1 year exclusive deal, we will never know because its under NDA. i just don't think nintendo will pay platinum games 2 million worth of sales, that would be a horrible descision for nintendo because both games are not system sellers.

Not exclusive, TIMED exclusive. There is a big difference with GTA IV and Bayonetta 2. The DLC in GTA IV was coming regardless. MS simply gave Rockstar money to bring it to their console first. Not bring it to their console and only their console. MS was not surprised when Rockstar announced the GTA IV DLC for PS3 and PC. Also, that money MS gave them was protected. If the DLC was not successful to a point they agreed on, Rockstar would have to pay them back. In the case of Bayonetta 2 you have a game that simply would not exist if it weren't for Nintendo. So they aren't the same thing.

Hideki Kamiya has said via twitter that these games will remain exclusive to the WiiU unless Nintendo themselves decide to put them on other consoles. So there goes any ideas that Nintendo has no control over either game passed some exclusive timed deal. Also, isn't W101 a Nintendo IP?

Ninja Gaiden 3 was never a WiiU exclusive. It's a port of a game that sucks and has been on PS360 for months. Rayman going multi is no surprise.

These two games will remain exclusive to WiiU so I look forward to the OP's in-depth 0 score reviews on Metacritic once they release.

FIrst NG3 Razors Edge, and now Rayman Legends! Is it possible Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 end up on PS360 aswel? Nintendo publishes those games, but so did they publish NG3 Razors Edge in the West.

Nintendo is funding development of Bayonetta 2.  Why the heck would that end up on other consoles at this point?  As for Wonderful 101, can you confirm that it isn't designed for the special Wii U controller?

Why is Wonderful 101 involved in this discussion?
Nintendo owns the IP so of course it won't get ported to the other consoles just like, Last Story or Pandora's Tower.
There is a slight chance of Bayonetta 2, but since Sega wasn't interested in the first place it is unlikely they will change their mind all of a sudden.

I keep checking back on this topic for one reason only.  I'm amused by the amount of people on each page that constantly are going Wonderfull 101, yea I think so.  Then saying no to bayonetta cause they know that Nintendo is funding, ect it.

It's so amusing to see how many people have no clue that Nintendo owns the Wonderful 101 IP, and apparantly have not read a single post in this thread cause half of them are of people telling others that Wonderful 101 is owned by Nintendo so no way.

Microsoft paid for its exclusivity, not for it to be produced period. Gay Tony/Lost and Damned would still have come into existence without Microsoft's seed money. Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo's intervention.

still point remains rockstar made that content with microsoft money and released on ps3. we don't really know the exact deal with baynoitta, maybe nintendo gave them enough funds to finish the game for a 1 year exclusive deal, then later be released on 360/ps3. i think that makes more sense for both parties in deal, nintendo, pays less money and platinum games gets more sales.

Nintendo paid SEGA whatever money they had used so far to make Bayonetta 2.  Nintendo is also now paying 100% whatever costs go into Bayonetta 2.

There is $0 of anyone else in Bayonetta 2.  It is 100% nintendo money.

Pretty sure they have 100% say on where this game goes.  This is not a "paid" exclusive.  This is essentially a 1st party game.

If you wanna play them buy a wiiu and stop been a fanboy
