very true, but looking at last gen - which console(s) got the most of 3rd party support?

Should give you a hint that it's not about sales either.

So what you're saying is that Wii U will dominate 3rd party support? Weaker power and abysmal sales = 3rd party support?

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

So can someone please post results of the same graphics benchmark run on all three next-gen consoles. 'I think on the photo of the chip we see probably maybe this ... or not' - this is ridiculous. Well, we expect WiiU not being a powerhouse, but real comparisons can only give a benchmark (or better multiple different) run on the platforms that has to be compared.

The bottom line still is, that it doesn't matter how powerful the Wii U is compared to the other consoles, since the only way to play Nintendo games is to buy Nintendo hardware. The first party games I care about are still there and the third party games I care about will still be on Steam's holiday sale, for 10 bucks or less.

At least we now know that the Wii U is not weaker than PS360. I know, people didn't really mean it, they were just saying it.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

For the last time, the argument of "Wii is not an 8th generation" console is an argument out of ignorance, and fails because of the ignorance. Look up "generation" in the dictionary. It has to do with the time of release, not how many hertz the processor is. Since the Wii U was released after the Wii and is the successor to the Wii, we can logically deduce that it belongs to the 8th generation of consoles, which also includes Vita and 3DS, and later the PS4, and Xbox 361.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I guess X was just CG then

damn you Nintendo how can you show us a huge world that looks better on a system that is weaker and renders on two screens!

The unidentified parts on the photo are a forbidden aracana chip - CONFIRMED!

Billions of profit in the past years ,the smallest and cheapest top developer teams and the only thing they were really
investing money in was to make monster hunter and dragon quest nintendo exclusiv.I don't like that strategy and
I really doubt that they sell every Wii U unit with a loss as it is technically more a Meh U than a Wii U,

EA's statement:"Wii U is not next gen"
was 100% right.

I think Wii only users will still be pleased with the graphics ,the rest???

So when they see a Ferrari they automatically say its faster than a VW? Even tho they have no idea if the Ferrari has a steering wheel or tires at all?

Makes sense to me :)

To bad something like newer shader technology etc is not important at all and doesnt count as "next gen". I mean its so unimportat that all ps3 and 360 games still look like PS2 games just with higher resolution and more polys. There is nothing at all that uses the shader advantage of the 360/Ps3! /sarcasm

I mean seriously lets say WiiU will be able to handle nextbox etc shaders but the console will run at a lower resolution and at the same time the polycount will be a bit lower (PS2 vs XBOX1) then of course its on par with the 360 LOL.

To bad noone made a game called resident evil revelations that shows that despite the 3ds being less powerful than a Wii it can have better graphics.

P.S. Its nice to see that GEN is such a officially recognized and accepted term that we can CLEARLY say what is next and what is last gen etc.

They do say the GPU is better than 360's though...just not by much

And exactly there is the problem.  It is better  and I say its not just better by a little bit.

Btw how to they know how much better it is? Even today developers and consumers say WOW I had no idea the PS3/360 can produce games that look like this (e.g. Battlefield 3)  so if noone knows what a 7 year old console can do how do they know what a new console can do with totally different architecture?

As long as we dont have a REAL clue what the next consoles will look like we cant say the WiiU is  clearly not next gen.   And when we finally have the new consoles and their only advantage is a higher resolution and more polys  but other than that the game looks the same  then the WiiU is more nextgen than it is last gen.

For me the 3DS is also alot better than the PSP and both are def not the same GEN! (it does not matter if the PSP can have roughly the same number of polys or whatever since it will never be able to handle games like Revelations)

Just yesterday I told my 3 year old nephews: "You guys are much smaller than me. Therefore you obviously are last generation ducks."

Wii - 100 mil

PS360 - 140 mil

So it is about sales. Most importantly about software sales though, not hardware, but still. Nobody wants to pay the same amount of money for a watered down port of what they can play on a different console. If PS4/Xbox8 will be simmilar to each other and quite close to what PC's offer, as the rummors say, the Wii U will be left out again no matter what Nintendo does. These are the rules of the game, Nintendo consciously ignores the rules and rightfully gets punished for it. They really can't complain, that's what happens when you decide to choose your own path.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
