1. Make better first person shooters
2. Profit

Sony has made more shooters than Microsoft. The problem with Sony is they want to push this core experience that is totally unidentifiable by the average gamer so their sales will reflect such.

I think they are about even in terms of first person shooters. But quantity is irrelevant, quality is what I suggested. What is a "core experience"?

Nothing will get me to buy Killzone but Resistance was awesome.

number 9 is probably the second biggest reason I dont play online very much on my ps3... first would be most of my friends have 360's...

I can't argue that, but COD is still fun and competitive on the PS3. I wish I had bought it on the 360 but it was sold out. The online is just as healthy.

The online is just as healthy.. yes I agree. But the comunication is lacking and the skill of the average player is.. how would I put this.. in easy mode as compared to XBL.

That last statement is subjective.. and there is no problem with communication on PSN.. at all.. all u have is cross game voice chat.. that's it..

Maybe if Sony makes their FPSs less generic and with better gameplay that will be possible. Resistance has great gameplay AND story, it's one of my favourite FPSs this generation, could be a hit in the FPS market if the game setting itself wasn't quite generic, about Killzone, well, it's the "The Conduit" of PS3, which borrows absolutely everything from other FPSs in the market, enhancing it with bad gameplay, awful story and multiplayer.

I have the answer! Haze 2!! Get around me!!!

You guys need to play some Dust 514.

I wonder sometimes why Sony ever invested in that game.

To get an exclusive game that'll get some PC players to buy a PS3?

No, mainstream gamers. Halo isn't being played mainly by PC gamers.

Some just don't get it anymore, but the sales show that the superior days of the Xbox 360's sales dominating shooters are over. Sony has an audience ready to buy those types of games but just aren't pushing them to that group of people. They are there because COD sells between 10-12 million on the PS3 alone.

Halo 4, did you see it? Not sure how that isn't dominant.

The PS3's top selling COD has outsold the top selling Halo. The ceiling has been lifted for shooters on the PS3. Give it up, the time of dominance is over.

Cod is multiplatform. Halo is not, also, has not the top cod on 360 sold more than the top cod on ps3?

Edit: 3 of the top 5 selling CoD games are on the 360.

It doesn't matter. My point has been proven that the PS3's ceiling for how much a shooter can make has been reached by COD, which has sold more than the 360's highest selling Halo. Thats my point and I dont think that can be disputed. Thats not an opinion. Once Sony sees those numbers they must realize they are doing something wrong if they want Halo/COD type sales for first party where they can rake in pure profit.

Just because CoD is selling such and such amount, does not mean Sony should be shooting for that or thinking they are "doing something wrong" if their games don't hit that mark. CoD caught lightning in a bottle this gen and none of the games it competes against can come close to matching it. You even say yourself it outsells Halo on Xbox. Shouldn't Sony first focus on maybe trying to match Halo in quality and sales before worrying about a franchise that is even further out of their reach than Halo?

It's like Nintendo games on a Nintendo console. Should a 3rd party company see the numbers for Mario Kart or Galaxy or NSMBWii and think hey you know what, they did it so clearly we need to hit that or we're doing something wrong. Nah.

Don't think Dust 514 is aimed at mainstream players. I think it's aimed at Eve players and people who are interested in playing a FPS that's not another CoD clone.

What are you on? A multiplatform (that sell more on the 360) is your argument? I bring Halo into the mix and you just ignore it? It is an opinion. Just because your cod sells more than the 360's halo is a moot point when compared to cod vs cod. Halo is a first person shooter, did you know? The ceiling hasn't been reached, if it had, this thread would be unnecassary.
