number 9 is probably the second biggest reason I dont play online very much on my ps3... first would be most of my friends have 360's...

I can't argue that, but COD is still fun and competitive on the PS3. I wish I had bought it on the 360 but it was sold out. The online is just as healthy.

The online is just as healthy.. yes I agree. But the comunication is lacking and the skill of the average player is.. how would I put this.. in easy mode as compared to XBL.

i have no idea who you played against on PSN, but i've got a crew that constantly handles Xbox and PSN ass with PSN being our worst KD yet still positive.

i've never lost a GEARS, or COD match on 360, and only 4 matches in Halo, but have lost plenty of COD and KZ matches on PS3 with my KD lacking by 1k on KZ2.

it's like 2165/3K something, and that's mainly cause of the pistol. i stoped playing when gliching picked up.

Crap you sound like you'll do some damage. What did you think of the post? Is there anything I should add?

man the only person that has ever equaled me is my brother, which is why we don't play against eachother anymore. i had to stop playing shoorters because i can't track the movement anymore. there was a point in time you couldn't sneak up on me. anyway those days are gone.

1. Games are intergrated into the community: I hate to use this but people are willing to pay for Xbox Live just to play Halo COD and Gears and it speaks to how compelling its hold is on the community. Party chat bolsters the teamwork aspect two fold (but I will talk about that later).

isn't this what you have mic's for? i don't need cross game chat for team work, i've got a headset for that. Turtle beach anyone? no i don't have, but it's like intergrated in my head.

>>That wasn't really my point, the games enhance the community. Without those two games Xbox Live is nothing and the way it enhances the community experience is great in itself. Gears and Halo are huge multiplayer titles with player appetite. No Sony exclusive has this type of community fanfare. This is my point, mics are obvious that they should be in the box from the day of purchase.

2. Well made maps balance well open spaces, levels, bases, sniping points and choke points: (well placed cooridors or constricting paths for those who don't understand what a choke point is). Games like COD and Halo in most cases keep the maps varied between small at tight points that encourage high kill/death ratios and have a shorter learning curve so gamers can quickly become immsersed in the action, but mastery is left solely up to your aptitude.

On the PS3 with MAG and now with Dust 514, the maps are unnecessarily large. Battlefield has mastered how to make this type of action work without holding back the gameplay, because of their air/land/sea style combat. If you look at their sales you can see the formula still works.

i couldn't agree more but Halo nor does any other shoorter does it well enough. no matter the shooter you're still a sitting duck.

>>> For moderate level gamers it's not such a bad thing though to have the levels leave players as sitting ducks. Sonys games are the more experienced gamer which is on the PC already and hasnt purchased a PS3. They need choke points and center points in the map or else they are fucked against more experienced gamers. To meet sales expectations games are balancing the playing field for inexperienced gamers and experienced ones. COD does this best, because the more experienced gamers like snipers can tag their nest points so newbs who dont pay attention to their surroundings will think they have a shot at them and then fall right into a trap. The experienced gamer doesn't always have to leave it up to the gun fight. They can rake in kills by luring enemies.

3. Quicker action that works well with the controller you're playing (yes, subjective but makes ense.). Nothing is more infuriating than a slow and clunky shooter. Create a balanced controller for the PS4 that can work well with shooters, fighters, racer and action games without hindering each other. Those are the main genres to master.

lol i move at an angle before hitting corners, so i don't really turn when playing shooters, and i'm already aiming for a head shot.

>>>I should try moving at angles. I tend to jump to the side quick scoping corners to surprise an enemy.

4. A compelling lore with compelling characters: Halo has a great lore that spans numerous books and has an extremely loyal following. COD, not so much but Black Ops 2 had a great story that inspires at least two playthroughs. Creating a large and expansive world in the lore can inspire generations of games if the game is successful.

this is war. i've got nothing for this one. i never gave to much thought to it. but it's war, not budy budy time.

>>>LOL really? Compelling stories can go a long way and Halo is a testament to this truth.

5. Character customization: On the Xbox 360 you'll notice a good amount of customization in Halo. Being able to play the game and gain parts or customize the controller to

weapon customization is more important.

>>> I was going to add that, but realized I didnt even finish the sentence.

6. Mulitplayer Perks: Give players incentive and buffs to give the players an edge in their style of play. Gaining more perks increases replay value. In COD you can have many styles of play and perks which include extra weapons, gameplay and buffs.

doesn't KZ have classes for that? depends on how well the work for the way you play the class

>>> Not like Halo or COD in their own respective ways.

7. Rank: No...I am not talking about rank based on your  overall score giving you pull in MAG (which wasn't even properly utilized because most gamers didnt even have a mic). I am talking about rank and medals based on your achievements and level of play. Congratulate gamers for their dedication.

KZ2 has that.

>>>I am referring making a new game that can gather at least five million gamers.

8. Compelling DLC: Give consumers a reason to buy DLC. Make the maps provide some sort of varied challenge based on level design while still making the maps accessible. Marketing this should be easy and make consumers want to try their luck against the competition.

never bought DLC

>>> Thats cool, but it adds to the experience.

9. Mics/ Party Chat/Cross Chat: Please prepare the PS4 for battle because THIS IS WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT WHEN THEY WANT TO GAME WITH THEIR FRIENDS. They want full acessibility choices pertaining to their friends when they game or are just watching a movie. We know the PS4 will have this, but I just had to add it. Mics must be accessible straight out of the box when gamers get their PS4.

i remeber doing this with PSeye

10. Talents unique to a character or class from the start of the game with evolutionary or changeable traits: There are many players out there let them choose. In single player teach them how to control a unique character that is going to take on his or hers universe. Perks or talents in the game change the way gamers see YOUR GAME from the other games, thus making it lack generic appearance. The risk is worth it if you want to gain appeal and it meshes with the core gameplay.

every shooter needs to do this better.

>>> Halo Reach did this very well.

11. More vehincles (recently added): Give players a chance to have fun even if they aren't great. So what if they get shot off of their bike! Give them a fighting chance against veterans.

Starhawk

>>> Don't remind me.

i know i just needed better clarification on it so i just posted something lol. UC and LBP are the only ip i can think of that Sony has that could even be consisdered in that light.

2. Well made maps balance well open spaces, levels, bases, sniping points and choke points: (well placed cooridors or constricting paths for those who don't understand what a choke point is). good point, but i cite the single player experiance for that, cause all to often the single player turns into multiplayer maps. but those who lack that type of attention in single player, get murdered in multiplayer cause they feel that's the time to start scouting.

cod may level the playing field to the newcomer, but....well i guess because it's open ended, nothings hard to look for, unless less you're me and don't look for places to hide for sniping(i no scope) and the other thing core gamers have in this area is lineage (all the way back to doom and duck hunt lol) , so no matter how much added help a game gives, you it doesn't really change or level the playing field. it just make everyone with no long standing history in the genre sitting ducks who get a few kills here and there.

>>>I should try moving at angles. I tend to jump to the side quick scoping corners to surprise an enemy.

get shot in the ass in the air. lmao to much COD my friend. i'm sure you've played Goldeneye64. if you can or still have it, go back to it, it's the best place to practice moving at angles.

oh yea, i tend to kill people that glitch aswell. there's only one glitcher out of all the ones i face that i didn't kill. other then the glitcher that shot through the wall on Radec stage with the revive device.

really i didn't see either of the glitchers. so of all the glitchers i've seen i've killed 100%. of the ones i didn't see i'm 0 for 2.

4. A compelling lore with compelling characters: Halo has a great lore that spans numerous books and has an extremely loyal following. COD, not so much but Black Ops 2 had a great story that inspires at least two playthroughs. >>>LOL really? Compelling stories can go a long way and Halo is a testament to this truth.

i've always enjoyed the KZ story, and played Halo. ready to be shocked? i feel Halo has no story. it just doesn't keep me interested in it if there is one. blops had a great story though. talk about paranoid lol. GEARS has a very weak story but moving.

5. Character customization: On the Xbox 360 you'll notice a good amount of customization in Halo. Being able to play the game and gain parts or customize the controller to

weapon customization is more important.

>>> I was going to add that, but realized I didnt even finish the sentence.

yea i think character customization is a cool idea, but i think customization should be  geared to your style of play, and not superficial stuff that really adds nothing.

>>> Not like Halo or COD in their own respective ways.

i don't think any shooter does class specifications well at all. i also hate the 2 weapon system, as it limits you to less tactical measures/options. 4-6 weapons should suffice. COD isn't close to being realistic and it takes the 2 weapon approach, and that's sad. you do know i hate COD right? i'm sure you do. i've been saying it for the past 3 yr's lol.

Socom remake! mag should have done that, but i think it was released at the wrong time.

ok this is just opinion, but Halo wouldn't sale 5m units on PS3, even if it were exclusive. if you want Sony to have a shooter that gets 5m gamers, then dream about it, cause i don't see it. maybe Dust 541 can get 3-5m but i just don't see that possible outside of COD

then again Resistance could have done it, if 2 wasn't such a let down to those who bought it.

8. Compelling DLC: Give consumers a reason to buy DLC. Make the maps provide some sort of varied challenge based on level design while still making the maps accessible. Marketing this should be easy and make consumers want to try their luck against the competition.

never bought DLC

>>> Thats cool, but it adds to the experience.

yea i know just never got around to it.

9. Mics/ Party Chat/Cross Chat: Please prepare the PS4 for battle because THIS IS WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT WHEN THEY WANT TO GAME WITH THEIR FRIENDS. doesn't KZ have this for claesses online? GG screwed them up on KZ3 though. Reaches abilities got you killed facing me online.

11. More vehincles (recently added): Give players a chance to have fun even if they aren't great. So what if they get shot off of their bike! Give them a fighting chance against veterans.

Starhawk

>>> Don't remind me.

why? and if there is something you feel i missed let me know.

me, infact i hope it comes to PS3, though it suits PS4 better.
