it's called propaganda, historical truth is nothing more than synthetic construct created by historians who are paid by governments and other institutions and organizations, to understand history you need to study the archive materials if they exist and they are for most part not accessible for most, they are classified, and even if accessible very few are able to read them or understand them in west average IQ is around 100 (90 - 110) something like 75% of entire society and this is poor, extremely poor.
So most society are unable to understand or evaluate what is true, what remain in society is herd instinct and blind adherence to authority or some conspiratorial thinking(which is better it's mark of some intelligence), to be honest livestock is unable to conspiratorial thinking but is perfectly devoted to authority.
My point is for most humanity popular books and cinema or TV are only source for understanding history, in case of Hitler look no further than your next theater or DVD rental 100's movies on evil Nazis, but what happened in soviet Russia from 1917 to 1939 probably nothing

All you have to do is read the summary of his Wiki.
Regardless, they are both rotting in the same place ;)
Much like Hitler, we still should not discount Bin Laden's influence upon future generations.
Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"
Nope, concentration camps, trying to genocide Jews and Sinti/Roma, starting a war with millions of casualties, unbelievable war-crimes. No, Bin Laden isn't comparable with Hitler.
Bin Laden is more comparable with Pope Urban II, who started the First Crusade out of religious fanatism. Bin Laden basically does the same.

9/11 is the most important event in the begnning of the 21. century. It is the biggest of a series of terroristic attacks (it started before, mostly unnoticed as most targets were in Africa and was followed by some terror-attacks in europe). 9/11 was used by european countries and the USA to ditch freedom-rights for feels of security and building a surveillance society. Yes, I pretty much think it will be covered in future history books over the world.

Simple question really - do you think Osama Bin Laden has reached Adolf Hitler's level of infamy? Why or why not? If this subject offends anyone, I give sincere apologies. Was something that crossed my mind and I just wanted to get the community's feedback. |
Total deaths Bin Laden caused? Less than 20,000
Total deaths Hitler caused? More than 6,000,000
Bin Laden is hated by America mostly.

| spurgeonryan said: No. Hitler is on par with Vlad the impaler and other monsters of history. Maybe Saddam could reach that level. At least more than bin laden. Hitler did not hide in a cage for @ decade. |
How was Vlad The Impaler ''evil''? He was brutal, but not evil

Around 50 million chinese dead. Stalin also managed to kill more ukrainians of starvation in one winter than Hitler killed jews in five or so years. Not to mention the great purge and all the population displacements after that.
So really, Hitler and Bin Laden don't hold a candle next to those two. Gengis Khan was also pretty brutal. He reduced the population of Persia from ten to one million during his campaign, apparently.
