Forums - General - Has Bin Laden reached Hitler's status in infamy?

I guess a better question would have been: "Can Bin Laden reach Hitler's status"? Though again, the answer is: probably not.

Hah, stupid question. :P

Of course he'll never get to Hitler's status; he's already dead! There's no comparison bin Laden didn't do ten percent of what Hitler did. If people hate bin Laden it's more due to him daring to attack the West and not because he did other terrible things.

just give me an example of something he did

..just to get straight to the juicy part of it all

Around 50 million chinese dead. Stalin also managed to kill more ukrainians of starvation in one winter than Hitler killed jews in five or so years. Not to mention the great purge and all the population displacements after that.

So really, Hitler and Bin Laden don't hold a candle next to those two. Gengis Khan was also pretty brutal. He reduced the population of Persia from ten to one million during his campaign, apparently.

oh i forgot about the whole Ukraine famine thin.I believe the Ukranians actually embraced the Nazi's as they were invading Russia because they hated Stalin

and GOOD LORD! I thought Gengis Khan was pretty much a good guy? why the hell did they name a pokemon after him

If we take the facts as they're told.. Bin Laden didn't reach the cruality of Hitler and no one will ..

But in my opinion, Bin Laden is a Fictional Character made by the American Gouvernement and Media in order to justify their invasion on Afghanistan and Iraq. (At least that what showed a TV Program with tons of proofs)

Simple question really - do you think Osama Bin Laden has reached Adolf Hitler's level of infamy? Why or why not? If this subject offends anyone, I give sincere apologies. Was something that crossed my mind and I just wanted to get the community's feedback.

6 millions of jews X 5 thousand americans.

No, never. Maybe to americans, but, not for everyone else on the Universe.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Not even close.

Nah, not even close. OBL killed so few people compared to AH. His brand of islam was odious and twisted. But it never had a chance to lead to the attrocities of the 3rd Reich. Hitler had the power and resources of an entire nation, and until 1939 had global legitimacy as a head of state. He hosted the olympics in 1936. Part of what makes AH so infamous is that he was regarded by world powers as an acceptable head of state and a member of the ruling elite until he went too far. OBL was never any of that.

Pretty much. Imagine what it took for the ukrainians to turn back again on the nazis. I guess it's because the not-so-bright nazi elite desired Ukraine the most of all the lands in the east, and that's on top of Himmler's advice, from all people, that destroying a whole nation was "un-germanic and impossible". It wasn't until 1943 or so, when the SS had became a multicultural, multiethnic force, that they were actually considering a german-led EU instead of a Großgermanisches Reich.

And about Gengis Khan... well yeah but I guess war atrocities were more common back then and it's been quite a while anyways.

Stalin, Mao, Lenin and then Hitler I think the order in mass murdering... People always Forget Lenin, but he was and evil sonofabitch as well

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

History Books tend to be very selective about who they call mass murders.

Some murders are hatred(Stalin,Hitler,Mao). Other are praised (Julius Caesar,Hernan Cortés).

The conquest of the American continent by the Europeans is probably the largest genocidal campaign in history.

Native americans are almost extinct.
