What kind of Ocarina remake do you prefer?

A 1:1 experience with remade assets 1 3.85%

An expanded version with new mechanics/areas 13 50.00%

A complete reimagining of the story/gameplay 12 46.15%

Total:26

While I want the game to be the best it can be, I really hope the OOT Remake is not delayed into 2027. Considering it's September and no hard release date yet it could be delayed to Spring or Summer 2027.
Personally? I think December is a good possibility but now that Nintendo is going through the trouble of a Zelda Anniversary Direct I think November is more likely. November has a huge association with Zelda games (not for the Wild duology, but still).

I keep my fingers crossed for an announcement of the next new Zelda game too.

I hope Nintendo will have the courage and initiative to make a complete reimagining of the story/gameplay.

Og game is dated like a dinosaur, it needs a big update.

Predictions:

  • OoT remake is the star of the show, is relatively faithful to the original while having many quality of life improvements. COnsider how conservative Nintendo was with Star Fox earlier this year.
  • Upcoming movie is mentioned, no trailer is shown
  • Re-releases of games, including either the Wii U HD remakes or Twilight Princess on NSO
  • Next big 3D game gets reveal trailer that reveals next to nothing

Wind waker, twilight princess shadow drop for Switch 1&2 please

I checked Nintendo Today! on a whim this morning and saw this!

We are getting a Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct in four days! Tune in on Sept. 8 at 7am PT for 30 minutes of who-knows-what.

Ooh man I’m at a crossroads. I’m really feeling like I should avoid this… don’t want all the surprise spoiled! Plus I’ve got the convenient excuse of having class right as the showcase is going on. Hmm… I’ll think on it

I hear you. It would be amazing to be able to go into the next Zelda game completely blind.

But this is my perspective: if you're going to spend any time on VGChartz after the Direct, you're going to come face to face with details about the presentation, so you might as well get the satisfaction of seeing it unfold in real time. Also, Nintendo may open pre-orders for limited edition consoles/controllers/games during or right after the presentation.
