I was going to buy a 3DS but i also wanted to get a Wii U.  The problem i am having is which one should i get because I can only afford one of them.  I know a lot of the games on Wii U are ports but idc.  Which system is worth it in the long run?

Go with the 3DS. It has several great games releasing this year and an already great library so far.

I say the 3ds, it's showing the most promise.

That's a tough one. But I'd go with the Wii U if I could only have one. The 3DS has great games, but they are smaller portable type games. The Wii U has and will continue to have big full scale games. If you know what I mean.

Or you could wait and see what Sony and MS bring to the table. Personally I'm hoping for a Halo Trilogy launch for the Nextbox.

Well, if you want some particular game, you should go with the console which has it. As I don't know anything about your gaming preferences I can make only give some more broad suggestion. That would be the 3DSXL. Simply because it is longer out than the Wii and has more games and more games coming. Make sure you take a look on Resident Evil Revelations, Kid Icarus Uprising, Freakyforms Deluxe, Dillon's Rolling Western, Pullblox/Fallblox. Also you americans should get Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey.

If you want 3d mario and Smash? go WiiU.
If you want Pokemon? Go 3ds.

I would be able to afford one of them when they come out.  I just want a new system right now is all

I have the exact same problem as you. I'm not much of a handheld gamer and if I get a 3DS now I might not be able to get a Wii U until next year...tough times...

If you want one right now? like right as of the moment now? Go with the 3DS it has the better games.

If you want one for the future? Depends on whether you like pokemon or not.

I have no gaming preference really.  I like everything.  Action, shooters, racing, party, you name it lol
