The Wii 3rd party support was beyond terrible, in my opinion. When the marked leader only has about 20-30 3rd party games worth buying over a 5-6 year period, something has gone terribly wrong.

Of course all these game aren't for the "hardcore gamer", they aren't all 5 star AAA games, but if you're in the demographic they're all pretty good.

I think these are all 3rd party, you might want to take the last game in the list to heart.

The problem is that more than half of those are not worth buying. He is very correct.

The Wii has more than enough games to justify itself, but please do not try and argue that the Wii has had strong 3rd party support at any point in its life.

I mostly agree, except that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was at least as good as the other versions. Metacritic (and various review sites) will back me up on this. One thing is for sure - it's not the same game, which is probably its best asset.

My apologies. I tried to leave out commentary on games that I did not have any experience with. I do have the 360 version, so based on at minimum visual difference, I assumed and should not have.

7-Little King's Story - Remake on Vita

While there are plenty of other things I disagree with about that list, this is a dirty lie, spread by facist fifth-columnists whose sole purpose in life is to destroy every trace of magic and happiness in the world.

Don't believe the lie!

What's the issue with the Vita version, if you don't mind me asking?

Exclusive 3rd party support matters when nearly all of your multiplatform games are worse on the Wii. I was very, very kind with what I left on there knowing that some people might have enjoyed them. I could have gone far more critical and reduced the list to around 20-25 games and even then, that'd be generous.

Worth buying is also a pretty large disclaimer to add in, considering they aren't worth buying on the Wii if you can experience the same thing but better on another platform.

It's fine. Most Wii owners don't know or don't remember about the game, either (or don't care, most likely). A while back I posted about it in a similar thread, with screenshot and gameplay comparisons and such, and I found out I must be the only Wii owner on this site who has paid so much attention to third-party releases. :P

In very broad strokes: they changed it from the story of a little boy "living out" a "grown-up's fantasy" to a generic anime teen rescuing the anime underage harem, complete with leg and panty shots.

There are worse sins in life, but the Vita version basically ditched the things that most attracted me to the original in the first place.

@ outlawauron
I never said they were the best versions , & I didn't add on any disclaimer that wasn't there from the original post that I quoted. Will you say Battlefield 3 isn't worth buying on 360 since PC exists? Sure you can think only of your own tastes and reduce the list down to 20-25 games, but that wasn't the assignment.

I could also pick apart your notes on my list, but what's the point.

Well, when a multi-platform game is better on another console, and available at the same time(unlike NMH, which I might have enjoyed even more on PS3, but it wasn't out when I got it on Wii), there is no reason to get the Wii version, so that leaves out a whole lot of thos games on that list. Furthermore, if I was to find all those games intresting, I would have an extremely broad taste(which I kinda do), and I also think that many of those games are not worth buying, even if you like the genre. Would need to be at a discount for many of them, at least.

All in all, I think it's pretty safe to say, that for most people, the 3rd party support for the Wii was dissapointing and lacking. I had personally expected much more, once I saw how the Wii was selling in it's first years.

I love these movable goal posts.

-So now we are saying worth buying at full price.

-Now we're saying exclusive*, even though some Wii versions are better or unique enough in their own right, & we are now assuming you own a PS360 also.

-Now we're saying Interesting to one specific type of person.

I know the Wii didn't get the best support or 3rd part games, but your original post I quoted was wrong & I think I proved that.

Haha, I really don't care.

I think it's clear to most people, that the Wii had a very weak 3rd party selection. You think it was great, you think that list is worth buying for everyone! Good for you. You think that.
