Forums - Gaming - Entitled DmC Fans Want President Obama To Pull Game From Shelves

I read this on N4G before I went to class. This is obvious trolling.

I'm with you in the like it or leave it mentality.

But some people just don't want to lose their favourite series.

Whenever someone says that it tells me they were never a DMC fan to begin with.

DMC1 was made by Team Little Devils, for reasons that arn't relevant DMC2, 3, and 4 were made by different developers from in house Capcom.

None of the sequels were true sequels to the original game. DMC2 and 4 were espeically divergent from the style of the first game. With Dante being turned into the camp jester of the series for the 4th installment.

I've been a fan of these series from the first game, and the reality of the situation is Capcom never made a sequel to that game, the original creators of the series never made sequels. And frankly none of the games were worthy successors to the first game. Which currently still holds the highest metacritic after all these years.

These people complaining to me are not fans at all. They probably only played a bit of 3rd and 4th games, or even just the 4th game. If they were really fans of the series they would have never accepted the way Capcom deviated the series from its roots with DMC2, 3 and 4. Especailly not DMC4 which was a complete rejection of the tone and style established in the first game.

Oh, wow. That's quite sad.

Is this all about his hair not being bleached white? Or is there more to it?

I would be surprised if they even managed 500 signatures.

Have you seen how many people were crying about this game?

Prepare to be surprised.

these "gamers" are obviously not gamers.

I am not complaining. I am saying i find Devil may cry 4 more enjoyable. Or is that forbidden? The time where reviews = the opinions of the majority of gamers is far behind us. You can talk about your opinion and about the opinion of those reviewers, but thats about it. I believe you just want to play the victim. :) Its ok, i like rooting for the underdogs too, but i am honest when i say i find Devil may cry 4 better than DMC in a logical analyses. Actually, all DMC has done is make me feel like rebuying Devil may cry 4 (i was dumb for selling it. I assumed at the time there would be more in the series).

I understand aswell that DmC is more appealing to the average consumer, wich is why its getting good reviews.

With that said, the franchise was not tired and in need of a refresh. DMC4 sold the most out of all the titles. It was growing in popularity. The reason why they outsourced it, was because the people that made DMC3 and 4 left capcom and went to platinum. Next your going to tell us how Bayonetta is dated and in desperate need of a refresh.

Thats actually completely wrong.

DMC1 was originally designed to be Resident Evil 4 (you might realise thats where the R1 lock-on comes from). Hideki Kamiya and Shinki Mikami (Capcom Production Division 4) asked Capcom if they could change the name of the game to Devil May Cry. For whatever reason the game was successful.

For DMC2, Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami, and their team, Team Little Devils, went onto make Viewtiful Joe. In that time Capcom commissioned a sequel with Capcom's Production Division 1; led by Hideaki Itunso.

The game was not well recieved because of the poor combat compared to the first game (interestingly DMC2 did introduce mechanics that became important in future games). DMC3 was commisioned after DMC2, with a reinvention of the series. Hideaki Itusno asked Hideki Kamiya what his thoughts were, and Kamiya told him to do whatever he wants.

DMC4 was made again by HIdeaki Itsuno and Capcom's PD 1. Since then Hideki Kamiya and Team Little Devils left Capcom and founded Platinum Games.

The point is that Hideki Kamiya and Team Little Devils never made a sequel to DMC1, which is why Hideki Kamiya recently gave his blessing to DmC and Ninja Theory.

DMC4. You might think its an excellent game. But don't pretend that its a true DMC game because its made in Japan. None of the DMC games are 'true' sequels to the original in this respect. DmC is just another take on the franchise like DMC2, 3 and 4 were.

And DMC4 featured 2 hours worth of cutscenes focusing on Nero and Kyrie. Dante was relegated to the camp jester of the series, rejecting any previous character development he recieved in previous games, so the series could be reboot with Nero as the main character. Part of the reason Capcom rebooted the series is because Hideaki Itunso wanted to move onto Dragon's Dogma; probably because DMC was never his game to begin with he wanted to move onto something else. Half the game was a repeat of the first half. A lot of fans saw did not think it was good.

Shame. I've heard a ton of good things about DmC too.

Good post.
Fanboys are just angry for nothing - They don't know shit and don't think about the franchise at all.
DMC4 was a lot worse than the other games except DMC2.The Backtracking and degrading of Dante to a "Do the same stuff again with Dante" Sidecharacter already could be seen as a reboot cause Nero was the Hero.
Why DMC4 sold so good?Easy - The same reason Final Fantasy 13 sold so good.....Hype and the imagination what HD Consoles will do to that franchises(if they would have stayed like they where).
Or is FF13 one of the best FFs cause it sold that good?We all agree its the worst game ever made in J-RPG History and were the beginning of the downfall of SquareEnix.
Capcom has seen this too - It sold cause it was hyped up.DmC in comparison is a lot better than DMC4.DMC4 was only fun cause of the leaderbords and i played this game months after release just for them(Nr1 Europe on 360 while i played).
DmC plays and feels good - The only thing that is stupid are the 30fps but there will gladly be a PC Version.
People are pissed for no valid reason at all...Ohhhh Dante doesn't look like he used to...mimimimimi

The reaction to this game has made me embarrassed to call myself a DMC fan.

And yeah, DMC4 was undercooked to say the least. The story was a half-baked mess, Nero didn't hold a candle to Dante as a protaganist (in no small part due to his whining over Kyrie), the puzzles were clunky bullshit, and the overall design was lazy and rushed. The combat was the only solid aspect of the game, which is hardly medal-worthy since it just tinkered with the excellent model DMC3 put up.

While it wasn't as boring as DMC2, DMC4 clearly showed that adhering to the old model is no guarantee of a quality product. That's why the rabid reaction to the reboot made little sense to me, despite having plenty of problems with Ninja Theory's handling of it.
