I am not complaining. I am saying i find Devil may cry 4 more enjoyable. Or is that forbidden? The time where reviews = the opinions of the majority of gamers is far behind us. You can talk about your opinion and about the opinion of those reviewers, but thats about it. I believe you just want to play the victim. :) Its ok, i like rooting for the underdogs too, but i am honest when i say i find Devil may cry 4 better than DMC in a logical analyses. Actually, all DMC has done is make me feel like rebuying Devil may cry 4 (i was dumb for selling it. I assumed at the time there would be more in the series).

I understand aswell that DmC is more appealing to the average consumer, wich is why its getting good reviews.

With that said, the franchise was not tired and in need of a refresh. DMC4 sold the most out of all the titles. It was growing in popularity. The reason why they outsourced it, was because the people that made DMC3 and 4 left capcom and went to platinum. Next your going to tell us how Bayonetta is dated and in desperate need of a refresh.

Thats actually completely wrong.

DMC1 was originally designed to be Resident Evil 4 (you might realise thats where the R1 lock-on comes from). Hideki Kamiya and Shinki Mikami (Capcom Production Division 4) asked Capcom if they could change the name of the game to Devil May Cry. For whatever reason the game was successful.

For DMC2, Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami, and their team, Team Little Devils, went onto make Viewtiful Joe. In that time Capcom commissioned a sequel with Capcom's Production Division 1; led by Hideaki Itunso.

The game was not well recieved because of the poor combat compared to the first game (interestingly DMC2 did introduce mechanics that became important in future games). DMC3 was commisioned after DMC2, with a reinvention of the series. Hideaki Itusno asked Hideki Kamiya what his thoughts were, and Kamiya told him to do whatever he wants.

DMC4 was made again by HIdeaki Itsuno and Capcom's PD 1. Since then Hideki Kamiya and Team Little Devils left Capcom and founded Platinum Games.

The point is that Hideki Kamiya and Team Little Devils never made a sequel to DMC1, which is why Hideki Kamiya recently gave his blessing to DmC and Ninja Theory.

DMC4. You might think its an excellent game. But don't pretend that its a true DMC game because its made in Japan. None of the DMC games are 'true' sequels to the original in this respect. DmC is just another take on the franchise like DMC2, 3 and 4 were.

And DMC4 featured 2 hours worth of cutscenes focusing on Nero and Kyrie. Dante was relegated to the camp jester of the series, rejecting any previous character development he recieved in previous games, so the series could be reboot with Nero as the main character. Part of the reason Capcom rebooted the series is because Hideaki Itunso wanted to move onto Dragon's Dogma; probably because DMC was never his game to begin with he wanted to move onto something else. Half the game was a repeat of the first half. A lot of fans saw did not think it was good.
