Ninja theory really sucks at sequel making.

The pre-existing expectations in previous customers minds is something that exists in all mediums and a natural challenge with sequel making. And ninja Theory fails so hard at it that some fans petition the white house to get it pulled of off shelves. This is so amusing :D

Sort of. The government has to acknowledge it after like 100k maybe 10k sigs i forgot. The government normally just writes one sentence saying no. There was one petition saying the USA should make a death star.

granted, since so much crap gets through they probably take every petition less seriously.

You know I looked at it and laughed. I'm not sure if its real or not.

But that last line of the petition:

"Please Mr Obama look into your heart and make the decision that will please us gamers".

I think that gives it away, its a troll peition.

@Metrium, regarding your post on the first page. I think a lot of these over privileged DMC 'fans' (who I don't believe are fans at all) have seriously disgraced us with their behaviour over the last couple of years.

Unfortunately I feel the game was very good, but it was missing a few ingredients that would have made it spectacular. However any criticisims I have will be lost in the deluge of over privleged, undeserving individuals complaints about white hair.

"Entitled DMC Fans" are one of the worst things in the industry these days.

 

I hope they'll never get another japanese DMC title at this point.

Except DmC isnt a sequel, its a reboot.

A reboot has to deal with the same challenges that a sequel has.

I don't understand this at all.

Im a long time DMC fan and the new Dante utterly destroys old Dante

I dont even understand the emo thing. New Dante is clearly supposed to be more influenced by Punk. He looks like hed be rocking The Ramones, The Clash, or The Buzzcocks.

90% of the people complaining haven't even played the game

Not defending the game completely  - I dont like the style either especially since it is completely different from the usual DMC which I love but I'm willing to give it a shot at what it is a reboot, re-imagining in the views of another developer. Its pretty much in between a New IP and a sequel at least to me.

Anyways all I did was watch a 1 hour and 29 min YouTube video showing all the cutscenes in the game lol (thus spoiling myself the story but I dont care). I'm still planning to get the game but leaning towards a steam version (which will be a first for me) once it gets cheaper ;p.

I'm with you in the like it or leave it mentality.

But some people just don't want to lose their favourite series.

I think this is retarded. The guy doesnt even make a point.

With that said, DmC would be a great new IP, but its an insult to the legacy of the series and to the fans.
The series was in upward trend, it certainly didnt need a reboot, and not a juvenile reboot like this. Capcom needs to hire Platinum to make devil may cry 5 for them.
But, thats what happens. When you s**t on your fans, they s**t back on you.
