I thought the Wii U had a solid launch. But currently it is selling at a horrid rate.

I think that half of my Wii library is 3rd party, so I did my part.
But the problem lies with the hardware inside the Wii. It simply couldn't play the same games as the PS360 could, so it got shitty ports - and no one wanna play shitty ports. So it's kind of an endless cycle that keeps on going around and around..
Question is, why isn't 3rd party selling on the Wii U? Have Nintendo fans already played all the ports on PS360 or PC? ZombiU is selling... decently, but that's the only 3rd party game...

We almost had it, too. If someone had just manned up and bought one more copy of Dead Space Extraction, we'd be rolling in third party support.
Too bad, so sad.

I'll get some major flack about what Im saying but its the truth. I can't blame 3rd parties for being hesitant about bring their big gun hardcore franchises over to the Wii U user base when theres little evidence theres a market for them there. Wii U owners will have a major chance to put their money where their mouth is with Bayonetta 2. Its exclusive, isnt a late port, and isnt gimped on features. It's vitally important that game does well. I expect heavy 3rd party support from Japan however as it appears Nintendo is really focused on that market |
Funny. I don't recall Nintendo owners ever being given a chance to purchase a big-gun hardcore franchise. Outside of Monster Hunter, which we bought.

actually the launch sales were pretty horrid, sure they looked good compared ps2, 360 and wii but those systems were sold out.

Either early adopters are "hardcore" and already played them, or some (like me) too busy saving up to buy upcoming 3DS/PC stuff. Minority being the families who bought WiiU and only bought it for Mario.
I will be picking up MH3U though, and a couple other 3rd party games through its lifecycle, but for now? Eh.........

Dont mistake what Im saying. I agree 3rd parties didnt do their best for Wii owners at all. They gave really late, often shoddy ports. And many times nothing at all.
Thats why Im saying Bayonetta 2 is VERY important. Its exclusive, core, and fully designed for Wii U. Nintendo fans need to support this title

i think thats a horrible example, that game won't sell on ps3 or 360.

I see a hell alot of games I want for the Wii U, but that's because I haven't gotten them for the PC yet :p I guess it's true what BenV said; Bayo2 will be very telling if there actually is a market for 3rd party hardcore games on the Wii U... Personally, it's not my cup of tea that sepcific game, but I'd love to see Wii U get the same love as PS360/PS720

But it'll show if Nintendo gamers actually care for those kind of games...
