It doesn't get much better, I found it to be a borefest from start to finish. The main missions are bad and unimaginative and the environment is not appealing or good for parkour even (I spent most of the game running on the ground...). The story is uninteresting and the main character dull. I even liked AC1 more, and Revelations is a masterpiece next to 3.

I guess I was wrong then.

Ho hum.

I'm about the same and have given up. The graphics are pants the gameplay isn't evolving well it getting so clunky and boring and the the whole thing is completely boring. The whole ship thing was insanely bad. I loved number 2 and I found Brotherhood and Revelations ok but not needed and ruined the memory of 2 for me a little. 3 is awful. It will 100% be the last AC game I buy

I completely second what Troll_whisperer says

Seems like lot of you guys didn't like it. Have only played the series till revelations and quite enjoyed it. I guess i'll be going in with low expectations if i play it.

Well what is your opinion of 2? Since that one is easily my favorite I'd be interested to know if we agree on most of these things before I stop playing AC3 and move on to Borderlands 2.

I consider it the best, but not that far from Brotherhood. The game was fun and varied, the environments were the best in the series, the story and characters were good, Ezio is great. The combat was always easy but it was more varied and fun. The side stuff was good and exploring the cities was fun. Was it the one with subject 16s puzzles? Either way I platinum'd it.

I don't know what it is about 3. I couldn't even enjoy the core mechanics of the series in that game, I think the environments are badly designed for what AC is meant to be. Hell, you can't even reveal the whole map by climbing all the viewpoints, and exploring doesn't help because you reveal a tiny line wherever you go. There's nothing fun to climb, the missions are "go there, then there, then push a button, then come back". I was hoping that NY would be more fun but no, it sucks too. I don't know, this game may have put me off the series.

Assasins Creed 3 had a fair amount of neat ideas especially compared to revelations... it just didn't execute them very well imo.

I think we are the same person @___@

I also platinum'd AC2 and enjoyed every second of it. Remember those hidden tomb puzzles? Oh good times...

But anyway, I agree completely on what you think about 3, so far. I am going to give it a fair shake though. I will complete the game and update my impressions. But so far they don't doing the series justice.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

I would say keep going, it is definitely a good game, if you like running around stabbing things, but definitely not as good as AC II.

Hopefully they take the next one to London, as I don't really the countryside really played into the strengths of AC, as much fun as running through the trees is

well from what people have said here im completely put off trying it now, i didnt like ac2 but thought i might give this a try

And it's boring me to death. I understand when a game should start slow to get you into the character's life/story and all that jazz, but this is rediculous. It's not even fun. At all. Literally no fun is being had with this game....

How much better is it supposed to get? Shame what the series has become. Ac2 is one of my favorite games of all time and it seems that the entries have gotten worse with each new release....

Just enjoy the story.  Trust me you have plenty of time to explore and there's plenty to do once you get into it.  I also really enjoyed Haytham's missions just not Connor's early ones.  Haytham is my favorite AC character by far the guy just gets stuff done and is his dialog is very well delivered.
