Dreamcast rocked, especially for a console with a shelf life of 2 years. Skies of Arcadia and Soul Calibur will forever remain my favourite RPG and fighting game, respectively.

Ps1 rocked Final fantasy 7, Tekken 3 will forever remain my favourite RPG and fighting games. See Dreamcast is not one of a kind.

Just because one console is great, doesn't mean one can't be equally great. Nobody is saying the Dreamcast is the only great system there ever was. You're making this into yet an other unecessary console war argument. Your contribution here is childish at best.

i'm not tryig to diss the Dreamcast. Some people bug me when they call it the best console ever and it was the last true gaming system. The Xbox,PS2,GameCube,PS3 All are great consoles and had much more great games than Dreamcast that's all i'm trying to say. i bet that if the VITA get's discontinued some people will call it the best gaming machine and how it had alot of great games. Nostalgia messes with peoples minds.

So, it must also be nostalgia that makes you say that FF VII and Tekken 3 will forever remain your favorites in their respective genre.

You just proved my point.

Oh my. You really aren't the smart type, are you.

Things do evolve, yes. When you played FF VII and enjoyed it, it couldn't have been due to nostalgia. You liked it because to you, it was great. The same for us people who enjoyed the Dreamcast. Yes, it's outdated now. That doesn't mean it wasn't a great system. It doesn't mean there weren't great and stallar games for it. And it certainly doesn't mean that those games can't still be enjoyed to this day.

You really have nothing to contribute, do you?

I got an xbox in 2002 and still have it with 48 games although i havent played it for about 6 years. Just like 360 it had the best multiplats (Ps2 games had worse jaggies than 3ds). All 4 splinter cell games could almost pass as 360 games and the smilebit game's Gunvalkyrie, JSRF and panzer dragoon looked artistically beautiful. It was a great console for it's time that paved the way for xbox360. My 10 favourite games were Ninja gaiden black, Jet set radio future, PGR2, Rallisport challenge 2, Halo 2, Splinter cell chaos theory, Blinx time sweeper, Fable, Burnout 3 takedown and Burnout 4 revenge.

I played (and still play) the Gamecube, I owned a PS2 for a very short while but I was a fanboy & passed it along, I wish I had kept it.
That generation the 4 systems were all good for different reasons. The PS2 had lot's of AAA games from third parties & good exclusives. The Xbox had great graphics and some great exclusives. The Gamecube had IMO the best exclusives and was a well designed machine (fast loading, reliable hardware). The Dreamcast was great because it had lot's of great, fresh, experimental & exclusive games unlike anything that had been seen on consoles prior.

LOL!  That's awesome!  He would have noticed the difference between the Duke and the S-Controller.

The S-Controller, if I'm not mistaken, is actually a hair smaller than the Xbox 360 Controller.

Actually, the original Xbox suffered from bad ports of most games since the PS2 was often the lead platform.  Possibly later in the console's life they were better, but for the majority of it, they sucked.  Once Xbox LIVE came out though, the features of some multiplatform games actually favored the Xbox.  Even that took time, however.

All sports games, Ubisoft games and ports of games like GTA looked better on original xbox. The ram always played a bit part. Same in this generation for open world games.

It was my console of choice for sports games last generation.  Not only because they looked better but because of the internal HDD I didn't have to worry about running out of save space.

I remember thinking how weird it was that Microsoft was going to make a gaming console. Why? I thought - all real gamers played on the PC and the Sega/Nintendo stuff was just for kids.

But is also included a DVD player if you got the remote - they were expensive back then, so it was a nice bonus. They also included some nice features - the break away cables, included hard drive, etc.

Played Halo with my family, but didn't feel the need to leave a PC for it. Many people from all over started liking it, even though more of my friends had PlayStations of those that had consoles. Then I remember every 'friend of a friend' had a hacked one with a larger hard drive and all the games on it (the X360 was soon to follow.)

For many people Halo was the reason they bought the console.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
