Could be, any idea thats the msrp of that model? PS3 didn't have an official pricecut since 2011.

Which is why I said pricecut, colours and games. Not just a pricecut. When was the last big exclusive released on PS3? |
Of course new games are going to shift sales for older consoles. That's the reason why PS3, for one continues to outsell Wii U. It has a vastly superior game library, but also right now has the better upcoming exclusives. The problem for Wii U is, it doesn't have enough of them. As a result, PS3 should sell more over 2013.

Yeah, the disbelieve in some of my fellow fan-bros is incredible. There is no doubt that the WiiU sells bad, and that I do say although I have one in this room. It's a little sad, but I don't feel too bad, because I bought the system for the games already out or coming in Q1. So I'm OK with this so far. But I know, I would get more games with better sales. So buy more WiiU, please, dor me!
All these discussions aside...
Come on people, are we believing these preliminary numbers? It's Monday for Pete's sake.
If these are all true, everything is extremely bad. WiiU and Vita completely awful. This year would become the worst year ever!

It will. Until the next generation transition

No. They wont. Go check some history. You MIGHT get a slight bump, but no spike of anything major. |
The problem with that is, you just see a temporary slight increase in sales but that doesn't factor in the long term benefit that a big esteemed game has on hardware sales. e.g. Someone decides to buy a ps3 or xbox because of playing on a friend's call of duty game that's already been out a year. It DOES affect the long term trends as well. That's why 2011 was such a good year for ps3 sales despite it being around for 5 years- the games were shifting the hardware consistently through the year.

£199.99 I think. |
I don't know if this is relevant, but I thought the whole 'thing' about the slim PS3 was that Sony was allowing retailers to price it as they saw fit:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/sep/19/ps3-super-slim-announced-sony
This article mentioned that it should be selling at around £180.

halo 4 was the nr.1 of 2012 on amazon, that also doesn't concur with vgc numbers (and obviously also not with real numbers if we check npd and as example cod blops2)
amazon is amazon and not whole usa.

Anyway, I have a feeling that we have been here before, with the 3DS. The console will keep struggling until games release, it's the same with the Vita and I'm not making excuses unlike some other people did half a year ago. But Panictendo is best 'tendo, so I'm not worried. With the console doing this poorly, I might even get some free stuff down the line. Also, I know what games the console will get and so I already know 100% that the purchase was worth it, unlike my PSV, where I still struggle to find THAT game. I hope Soul Sacrifice and God Eater 2 will rectify this, but right now both consoles perform poorly, but Wii U does still better than the PSV, so I'm content. |
Now I know why I bought the WiiU that early. I want my ambassador games.

?? Vita launched after 3ds. WiiU is technically winning next gen. |
Come on. The Wii crunched the LTD-sales of the X360 in short time. The WiiU is starting to sell below what the X360 did in it's first year. Yes, it is one week so far, but consoles usually have a momentum that makes most weeks about the same without big releases. This momentum seems to be low for the WiiU.
