Also, using previously used logic then those are the only possible options. The poll and thread really expose the hypocricy of this site (and what really dominates this site)

BTW - This is nothin new. I have been fighting this fight since LBPlaunch

I would call it a disappointment as it hasn't sold badly enough to warrant calling it a flop.
Tease.
Uhh no. It's barely been released. What's wrong with you people? haha
The Wii U is not selling bad, it's not great but it's not selling bad. Personally the software sales are good, Nintendo is making money on this which is good but it tells me that people are price sensitive on the hardware. Asking someone to spend $350 + $60 dollar games isn't flying like it use too. You can say it's the quality of games but i disagree, great launch list with something for everyone. Same thing is happening to the Vita, great games but the system costs too bloody much.
It took what, 2 years for the Xbox 360 to finally beat the PS2? The legs on the PS360 are gonna be so long on this generation it's not gonna be funny. The PS720 are gonna come out the gate just as slow as the Wii U it won't even be funny. No mass market is going to pay $400 bucks for a console in this economy. It'll be interesting to see what kind of decisions Microsoft + Sony will do to increase value. PSN+ and free games is great way to add value to a console profolio.
Nintendo retracted several studios to work on projects in the past two years, they really need to hit 2013 with 2 triple A games in holiday 2013
It met my prediction, and you're basing this off something that was drawn up 10 months or more before launch? Desperate.
Should it not also be noted that every console was dramatically overpredicted? Is that not worse, for we knew the games, the price, the fact it was already out and past sales?
| Expected PSV Sales | 10.18m |
| Actual PSV Sales | 4.08m |
| Percent Difference | -60% |
| # of expectations met | 0 (0%) |
| # of expectations not met | 46 (100%) |
And that's with known release dates, so there. Wii U predictions are actually pretty close compared to this. Vita is pretty much the Resident Evil 6 of the VGC prediction league, just without the sales :P
Talk?
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

The Wii U standard is launching at almost half the price the PS3 did, I think that effects sales numbers quite a bit. Pretty sure the 3DO was not a success. And of course supply constraints matter, if the console is always in short supply from the manufacturers then it's harder to buy. |
You don't get my point: We could say, the WiiU-launch is a big success, because people can be sure, that they will not get GT in the future. The numbers would be higher if GT was announced for WiiU (will you debate this?). So the numbers must be seen as great, because GT isn't announced. Same is, if the WiiU would have better tech built in, it would sell better.
That is basically the same as arguing with price and supply-constraint. If we remove all circumstances and differences between the consoles, they would sell - the same. So it is rubbish to argue with the stuff, that determines the sales in the first place. Sure, the sales-numbers are a result of price, games, tech, color-choices, advertisement, brand loyalty. But if we factor all this out, we have no longer sales to discuss.
Yes I say, if GT was announced for WiiU, the WiiU would have 2.8M instead of 2.5M now.
According to set criteria, Wii U is definitely a flop. It is also very funny to see those 4-5m predictions from certain users.
