At full retail price still. Nintendo would still have made at least twice profit with the same amount of units sold. |
Easily. Probably closer to 3x the profit.

Well youd be wrong since all you listed dont sell anywhere close to GT. |
Sony's official report show that GOW 3 has sold 5.2 million units, as of June 30, 2012. That seems pretty good sales to me. Though yeah, its not anything like GT5, but then again, as I said, GT5 has been heavily bundled while GOW 3 hasn't been bundled at all.

Because it has turned into a Sony vs MS battleground.

Because people like to argue. There is no argueing whether or not Mario Kart is bigger but but Forza and GT are similar this generation and they want to prove one another wrong by all means necessary.
I'll say it since so many people ignored it though. Congrats to Nintendo and Mario Kart. You are obviously the king of racers.
Why are people using this to say GT has fallen?
There's only one full console GT in the OP and it looks like it's gonna outsell the highest selling 2 Forzas soon.
The fact that prologue, just a taste of the full GT5, outsold each Forza but 3 and has almost triple the sales of GT4 Prologue is a sign that GT is just as big if not bigger than ever.
Hell, GT PSP, released when PSP piracy was full force and taking it's toll on all software sales, still hitting 3Million without digital sales is impressive to say the least.
4 ≈ One
It makes sense though, A casual oriented game on a casual console with 90m units should definitely sell more than two racing simulators which are far less mainstream on consoles with smaller install bases.
Mariokart is that must have game if you have a wii, everyone can play. Forza and GT are great games but are much less appealing to a wide audience.
Mario Kart's selling power is such that it cannot be entered into mortal comparisons, it has ascended to a level not seen by other racer's....will there be a challenger...or will it reign for eternity...

That growth for GT5:P also doesnt account for the DD sales, which are currently at ~1.2 Million. GTPSP has also been downloaded ~900,000 times.
In reality, GT5:P is sitting at ~5.35 Million.
In reality, GTPSP is sitting at ~3.85 Million.
In short - GT5 is ahead of GT4 in the same time-frame. GT5:P has dold better than any other GT Prologue and the Portable spin-off matches most other racing games.
Gran Turismo as a series is experiencing tremendous growth.

Surely you can't be serious?

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
