JUST my opinion.

Sony shipped 1.2 mln. in Europe and 1.2 mln. in Usa in last 5 weeks of 2007.
That`s 2.4 mln. + Japanese shippments like 200-300k.

And to say, that Nintendo can`t make atleast 3 mln. Wii, which is (i am more then sure) more simple to create, this must be Joke.

Anyway, Wii is like pokemons, yo-yo, tamagochi. When nintendo will fulfil the market, sales after that will just go down.
TheY need that shortages situation, just that 3rd party developers would think, that wii is popular and would make a lot of games, before market will be fulfiled. =)

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Sony could ship those PS3's because they've been sitting in a Sony warehouse for months because no store wanted to buy them.

Sure when Wii fulfills the market it'll fall, when it fulfills the market, all 6.5 billion of them

Oh....But Talon, that is just the internet conspiring with VGChartz to make it seem like there is some sort of shortage. Proof teh internets are a bunch of Wii fanboys.

 Do you live on another planet or something?   You seem to be trying to imply that they are tricking third party developers into thinking that the Wii is popular - as if selling 20 million consoles by this date doesn't imply that it actually IS popular in reality?

El Xbox 360 ha vendido hasta el momento más en Norte América que el Wii, pero también hay que considerar que el Xox 360 salió antes, por lo que el Wii le ha estado ganando terreno en U.S. y ya lo arrebasó en ventas totales en el mundo, el Xbox 360 es la consola con menos futuro de la nueva generación.

No, no. You see, on Vgchartz no one wants a 360 or a PS3. PS3's are bought for BluRay only and 360's just for seeing how many you can fry within a given period of time. We all know by now that the Wii is selling well, but people should stop acting as if the 360 and the PS3 is just shaite that should never had hit the market, it's really every bit as childish as calling the Wii a fad, if not more.

Hey Mummelman...this is a sales site, isn't it? Stop crying about whatever Wii bias you think this site has. The question is simple....why did the 360 beat the Wii this week. The logical answer at this point is a lack of supply, since that has been the case, certainly with NA numbers, since the Wii launched. Of course there could be other reasons, as Dodece much more articulately and less snidely put it about ten posts up.

As far as people wanting a 360 or a PS3...For me my stance is this: I will wait for a 360 when the price is low enough/I know it won't crap out. As far as a PS3 is concerned....I will wait for a lower price and for there to be some games that I want to play.

 


 Way to attack me instead of tackling the point. I was making a point; many users get away with being very childish in here without having to answer for it, that was my point. I don't own a single "next gen" machine myself yet, but I apprecaite a certain level of maturity in a discussion. Frankly, telling me to stop crying because you seem to agree with all the anti-MS and anti_Sony slander is rather low. I'd expect more from a senior member such as yourself. Attacking a point is fine, but don't get personal.

Acting as if Sony and MS aren't even part of the market is plain ludicrous, as most people would agree. Let's try to be civil and realistic at least.

 MANUELF, while some of us may have enough education to adequately read your spanish, the average age of this board seems to be pretty young, so I'm going to have to guess that a great many people who read this are not able to understand it.

 Since you've indicated that you can read english fine, could you try to post in english as well, generally speaking?  I mean, you want your opinions to be heard I'm sure, but they won't be if they aren't understood by most of the people participating.
