It is truly a horrific event, just like the 22 children in china who were stabbed. We are suppose to be sure no harm ever comes to them, but in the end, we are also the ones causing the most harm. May they rest in peace, where ever they are.

I guess we'll never know. I'd rather have our European gun-laws (meaning banning of firearms) stay the same just in case. |
Well, you do have Czech and Swiss gun laws that are incredibly liberal for European standards, and their crime rates are significantly lower than the US.
Like Kasz said, America has a culture of violence. The over-arching theme and narrative by using actual data modeling and statistics is that its caused by an abject lack of education and economic opportunities by minorities and the lower class, which in turn have much higher murder rates than the middle and upper class.
Fixing those problems aren't nearly as easy as scapegoating guns. Guns are a simplistic way to "Fix" the argument, when they do nothing. America has been liberalizing its gun laws since the 80s with CCW, castle doctrine, and the sunsetting of the federal assault weapons ban. Yet despite the liberalization, there is less violent crime today than there has been since the 50s and early 60s.
Why? Because our culture has changed, albeit not enough. Inequalities among minorities is better than it was in the 60s which has dropped crimes significantly. If minority education statistics ever get in line with white statistics, then our crime rate will be no different than Europe's, because crime among caucasians with similar levels of education is.......The same, regardless if its in the US, UK, Germany, or Scandinavia.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I never said that it wasn't serious, but the idea that he could have killed the 22 people with the knife if he "cared" is a terrible argument. The fact is that it is easier to kill many people with a gun. |
Thats just not true. first of all any maniac can use a knife but people need to learn how to use a gun. Secondly, guns are effective as long as you have ammo... knives are effective as long as its in your hand. Third, you need to hit a vital organ in either case to cause fatality, it's a lot easier hitting that close range.
Fact remains, 22 people where within arms reach China and if the guy wanted to one clean cut to the kneck would have killed them all

Ps. 22 kids were stabbed today in china by a crazy person.. So we know it's not the gun who gets the blame

Eh what?
I never talked about doctors, psychiatric drugs, guns, or knives.............
The motive?? He's probably sick of the worlds bullshit. Mind you that shouldn't give any sane person a reason to kill children but it's the fault of our countries crap, children having kids, sex craved people who sleep around (most people now a days), politics in the workforce, failure to do away with bad people, psychos running wild influencing other psychos and apparently in this guys case, how his mother treated him. Basically everything that makes the world a bad place.

I feel sorry for innocent civilans if guns ever become banned. Just look at chicago and New York worst crime rates in the USA and they have gun bans.

Chicago is in Illinois. Illinois is the last state to adopt conceal and carry laws. Chicago is going to beat NY City is murders this year with being one third of it's size.
looks like he obtained the guns illegally...
Awful just awful, my heart goes out to all the little ones that died. Maybe its about time America got a ban on guns, just like here in the UK.

There are many countries that ban guns and there are still school shootings. Banning guns won't do what you think it will.
