Like Ethomaz said the difference in 2008 was a lot smaller then 2011, but still in favor of 360 by up to half a million.

I just went back and looked at 2010, the difference in favor of 360 over November and December was close to 700k. I would say that's strongly favoring 360.

So 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, and a small favor for 360 in 2012. 2007 was an odd year, and 2009 was the PS3 Slim.

So what are Japan's Wii U week 2 sales projected to be? Im kinda assuming it will follow a pattern similar to the US sales...is that a decent assumption?

That's pretty much Nintendo's base prediction for new consoles during the launch window. GameCube and Wii sales estimates were similar, I think.

Probably. I'd predict global sales of 400K or higher next week, or closer to 500K if Wii U really holds up in Japan.

shipped is the number coming from both companies, and MS clearly dominated the PS3 in 2011 due to Kinect being a hot item, and it showed clearly in the shipment although they might have over shipped a little bit. But in 2010, they both shipped the same amount, in 2009 Sony out shipped MS by a large amount. I haven't checked 2008 shippement yet.

It's really not necessary though for a WEEKLY update. Milestones are fine.

But we can just use the games database to see the difference in week to week sales.

Therefore, no more Gran Turismo updates in every sales thread.

We know, Vita isn't selling well.
