Like Ethomaz said the difference in 2008 was a lot smaller then 2011, but still in favor of 360 by up to half a million.

I just went back and looked at 2010, the difference in favor of 360 over November and December was close to 700k. I would say that's strongly favoring 360.

So 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, and a small favor for 360 in 2012. 2007 was an odd year, and 2009 was the PS3 Slim.

shipped is the number coming from both companies, and MS clearly dominated the PS3 in 2011 due to Kinect being a hot item, and it showed clearly in the shipment although they might have over shipped a little bit. But in 2010, they both shipped the same amount, in 2009 Sony out shipped MS by a large amount. I haven't checked 2008 shippement yet. 

Why are you talking about shipments? This is a sales discussion and sales typically favor 360 in the last 2 months of the year.

2012 so far favors 360 by 270k
2011 - 1.27 million in favor of 360
2010 -In favor of 360 by close to 700k.
2009 - PS3 Slim, PS3 dominance, something like 2 million
2008 - In favor of 360 by 1.26 million, quite a dominance
2007 - In favor of PS3 by 430k
2006 - From PS3 launch to years end, 360 outsold PS3 by 1.6 million units

Bold years represent years favoring 360 sales during the holidays.

 

P.S. Kinect came out in 2010, most inventory was also sold in 2010, so if anything Kinect helped 2010, not 2011.

That PS2 figure hasn't been updated in nearly 2 years. Sony is still shipping PS2's. PS2 is actually closer to 156 million units sold. DS is still #2.

Shhhhh... lol, just let us enjoy this moment. The figures will eventually be adjusted and at that time Nintendo fans will hang their heads in disappointment, but for the time being we don't care about that.

The Wii U sales are very surprising to me in the USA. I guess all those ads I've been seeing are actually working. It actually increased from last weeks sales.

The drop off in Europe is as expected, just like it did in the USA its second week. Will it mimic the USA and increase in sales for the 3rd week? Maybe supply really is an issue and that explains why sales are so low in Europe?

I'm 100 percent certain Sony will out ship MS this quarter. I know America isnt  helping, but if last year is any indication, most people buy their gifts early now. Sony might be doing much bigger numbers elsewhere than we see here.

I posted twice... the first in the last week thread.

About the different in Europe I don't know... so I can't confirm if is that adjustment.

Except for 2011 being due to Kinect, I agree with the above. However 2008 was a price cut for both PS3 and 360.

Also, who cares about shipped figures? We're talking sales, or are you quoting me to talk to someone else? If PS3 ships to a broader region, where 360's shipments are more localize (which i true, PS3 ships more units outside of Europe and NA), then it makes sense that 360 is selling more of their shipment. I'll trust VGC numbers thank you.
