Forums - Nintendo - So uh, no MGSV, Dark Souls II, BioShock Infinite, MG Rising, GTAV, etc. for Wii U ...

This is where the Wii U's hardware lets it down as it isn't next-gen ready. If it was, devs could be planning releases on it and the next box etc but for now, it looks like it's just awkward to program for and has a very small amount of users, most of which will already own another console.

Not announced =/= not coming

I never played these games on my Wii, so not really sure what I am missing out.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

PS360 have the install base
WiiU doesn't have it right

The day it will have enough the PS4 and NextBox are out and it would cost too much to port a game in lower res cause the new Consoles will be superior in terms of power.
It will probably the same as the Wii - Nearly nor 3rd Party after some time, especially when Developers can use the PS4NextBox.

Will revisit this thread in 6-12 months, until then we really can't tell much at all.

We just have to face the fact that third-party developers would rather bankrupt themselves (like EUROCOM, THQ) than make games on Nintendo's systems.

I'm looking forward to the next one.

There's no reason for them not to announce a Wii U version if one exists.

Oh, right - you know every subtle detail about the internal workings of developers and publishers, and know every deal, every limitation, every restriction involved.

It's not at all possible that Sony and/or MS paid for the developers to not specifically confirm a Wii U version yet. It's not at all possible that Nintendo asked for no confirmation so that they could do a big reveal for themselves. It's not at all possible that developers don't want to officially confirm a Wii U version because development on the new platform is not guaranteed to be finished at the same time as the others (and they don't want to have to "delay" the Wii U version). It's not at all possible that there are features in the Wii U version that need to be shown off separately, and thus the developers or publishers want to have a special reveal for the Wii U version. And it's not at all possible that these games have been announced by paths that are typically watched by PS3 and 360 owners, and not other people, and thus they emphasise the versions that matter to those who are watching.

It's like ads for the 360 version of Black Ops 2 - the fact that the ad doesn't mention the PS3, Wii U, or Vita versions doesn't mean that those versions don't exist.

Here's something to think about - even Nintendo hasn't officially announced any Wii U titles for release later than March 2013, with the exception of Pikmin 3. Does this mean that even Nintendo doesn't have Wii U titles coming after then? Of course not. And in the same way, the fact that other developers haven't confirmed titles for the Wii U means nothing.

By the way, Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 were both released for the Wii. Neither one was officially confirmed by Activision prior to release (or at least, not more than a week before). What reason did they have for failing to announce these games? I mean, it takes ten seconds to add an "also available on Wii" note in fine print at the bottom of the reveal trailer with an asterisk to indicate that there's a condition on the statement (referring to the fact that the trailer represents the PS3 and 360 versions).

Similarly, EA announced NBA Jam for the Wii, then announced it later for the PS3 and 360. So it's not a one-directional thing, it's not "the Wii version is the black sheep version, they don't want to mention it". Simply put, neither you nor I have anywhere near enough information to know whether those games are coming to the Wii U, or why they didn't confirm them for the Wii U. Let's wait until the games are released before deciding what's going on.

A lot of these games have been in developement for a long time and many have taken longer then they were most likely intended. Bioshock infinite has been delayed multiple times, Tomb Raider too... GTAV prob wasn't meant to take 5 years. They need as stable and safe developement as possible and throwing in a new console to port the thing too wouldn't help that at all.

I would imagine theyll all be ported later down the line provided the games themselves are successful and the Wii U has a good start.
