The most powerfull console - I was tempted to get a ps2 then an xbox then an
xbox360 which was has a really impressive CPU from IBM with it's 3 cores. Then the PS3 turns up with the CELL and cool a motion sensing controller so i bought a PS3.
I liked the idea of motion sensing since i instinctivly steer game controllers after many years of motor cycling and car driving it seemed a logical way to go. There was no way i was going to resort to useing thumbsticks after playing on a PC with mouse and sidewinder pro.
So far though the games have hardly changed from last generation (yes better graphics i guess) and most of the sixaxis motion games have huge lag which is sonys fault for their lousy quality control standards (motorstorm is good though and is probably the only reason i still have the PS3 ).
Pretty dissapointing really about the best innovation this gen is the way the Wii does it's FPS games with the wiimote. Mabey will see some new ideas in 2008 though given most games developers have about as much imagination/innovation as a sponge, i am not expecting to much anymore.

that is because the wiimotes brought me back to gaming...i wouldn't have any console this gen (i had gc and ps2 last gen and n64 and psx gen before) if not for the wii

wiimote+wii sports is selling the wii, not price (as evidenced by the millions of consoles bought on ebay/craigslist/etc over the past 14 months for 350-400+)

The Wii. It has better exclusive games to me, and I wanted the new interface experience.

For me, the question would have been, would my second console have been a PS3 or Xbox 360 still. But I still think It'd be the Xbox 360. Again, because I get a gaming system for the games. There are much better exclusives on the 360 for my tastes.

Well I would obiusly not buy anything thats the meaning with before they launched they are not availble.

I would have bought the Wii with its current price (which is 270 EUR here), even if PS3 would have been 99.
I wasn't going to buy any console anymore, until i saw how you can control Wii.

But tell me Leo, which console would you have bought, for prices you mentioned, if the developers had seen Wiis success in advance and all the big 3rd party games, which were planned as PS3 exclusives, would have gone to Wii exclusives?
Or which one would you have bought if Wii would be able to create similar (as realistic) interactive environment that the Star Trel holodeck does, would have 500TB HDD, would be able to download and upload content via satellite at 10GBps and their prices would have been the same as they were?

Wii, of course. If Sony had a canyon full of money they could launch at that price. However that does not solve the development costs of the PS3 nor its hard to develop architecture. At U$ 300 Sony would have sold more hardwareb but we would still wait 2-3 years the those AAAAAXS games.

Neither; Wii had nothing at launch and 299$ launch PS3 would be worthless at any rate...
