You should make a thread:

Lets say the ps3 was at $599.99
The wii still at the same $249.99 price point,
BUT PS3 had on Launch games like:
MGS4, KZ2, R2, LBP, GT5, T6, FFXIII, WKS, GoW3, GTA4, DMC4.

which of the two would you have bought, and Why?

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Well stacking their launch is a pointless debate as Nintendo could have tried to do the same and launched with SMG, SSBB, MP3, LoZ:TP, WiiFit, NMH, MK....

BUT PS3 had on Launch games like:
MGS4, KZ2, R2, LBP, GT5, T6, FFXIII, WKS, GoW3, GTA4, DMC4.


Wait what is R2? Resistance 2 couldn't be a launch title even in an alternate reality if Resistance 1 wasn't =)

Games don't really matter anymore it's all about price.  Look at the 20 million wiis that sold!

@azrm2k, unless you are nintendo fanboy, your line up looks much weaker, compared to ps3. =))

Ressistance 2, yeah instead of Resistance 1. With amazing graphics and 60 players online. =)

For the records:
When gamecube came in 2001, it already cost 199$, while ps2 till May 2002 had 299$ price. Then in May 2002 Game cube went to 149$ and PS2 to 199$. Guess who won previous console battle? =))

The Wii only because i did not own a Gamecube and there were no PS3 games I wanted at launch.

Hey, how about this. Sony released an overpriced console,. with a fair amount of games. Nintendo released a cheaper console that appeals to more people. Now, which will sell more....



The 360 won't bomb, the Ps3 won't sell out past 100 million, the Wii will. Over all predictions, NINTENDO IS BACK IN FIRST BITCHES!

Wii because I wouldn't invest in "normal" a console when I can play the games better on my PC where as the Wii is a different game experience.

Wii... it's the cheapest game console still with the cheapest games. Best value for the buck. Plus the VC and everything else the Wii has that the other's don't. Silly question!

Who says they would drop it? They might just act like seagulls and empty their load over unsuspecting people
