for those talking about Halo, you can thank Goldeneye for paving the way for it.

Exactly.  Halo is Goldeneye with regenerating health and vehicles.

Wow.

Anyways Xbox for me, wider variety of games and more good ones. If you're someone like me who never got into the 3D era of Nintendo's franchises, there was not much to enjoy on the N64.

Xbox meanwhile had Rallisport Challenge 2, Links, and Crimson Skies. Xbox wins.

What wider variety of games? Compared to the N64?

N64. Rares glory days with Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong. Rogue Squadron, Mario party 2 (the best one), Turok 2, Smash Bros, Zelda OOT, Mario 64 come to mind.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Hard to say. N64 definitely had the better (and more) exclusives, though I'd say Xbox had the better multiplat games.

Still probably N64.

N64. I don't think there's a single Xbox exclusive I really like, and naturally that includes Halo.

Hmmm, I chose N64 but I have a lot of great Xbox games that I really enjoyed

Armed and Dangerous
Call of Cthulhu
Dreamfall
Fable
Gunvalkyrie
Jade Empire
Jet Set Radio Future
Stranger's Wrath
Otogi
Otogi 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Project Gotham Racing
Raze's Hell
Scrapland
Sega GT 2002
Shenmue II
Knights of the Old Republic
Stubbs the Zombie
Bard's Tale
Chronicles of Riddick
I even had fun with Voodoo Vince

Funny I picked 22 games out of my 77 Xbox games and I think that is one more than all the games I bought for the N64. I guess I just loved my N64 games more.

Heh, this is no contest. N64.

Ocarina of Time gives the N64 an auto-win against any other console, and Mario 64 makes the victory that much sweeter, but even if I'd disregard those the N64 still wins. To this day, my N64 collection is still the biggest collection of all the consoles I have and nearly all of them are classics. 'Proven' classics even.
No other console has had so many classic games, or so many that still stand out in my memory after all these years. No, it wasn't the first console I've ever played, but it's memorability definitely makes it my favorite. Unlikely to ever be surpassed.
For the life of me I cannot understand why it's sales are disappointing, I guess there is truth in the CD/cartridge story even though gameplay-wise I personally also preferred cartridges.

Have to give the XBox one plus though: It did have Knights of the Old Republic. I was jealous at my cousin for a time. He had the XBox and I didn't, but due to circumstances it was at my house for over half a year, so I did play the console enough to know. Of course he had KotOR before that and I had to get in on PC instead.

Still, one of the best games ever made does not win to like ten of the best games ever made.

Of course xbox, it had many awesome games while n64 did not have anything that would interest me.

Xbox is the only answer for a TRUE gamer.

Confirmed:  True gaming didn't start until 2001.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Nobody told us we were supposed to wait for the Xbox. We didn't get the memo. LOL
